Outdoor Trade Fest?
First, I couldn't find any reference to an outdoors version of the trading events, so that's why this new thread. If this should go into an existing thread, don't comment just pm me and I'll delete this post.
As I had to leave yesterday's Super7 party early and missed the trade fest, I was wondering if an adhoc, flash mob style trading gettogether toy trading. Best locations should be anywhere around SFB where it's easy to park and a few folding dinner tray tables can be setup for displaying the goods. Times and places would be coordinated based on who and when could make it and most convenient to those that will make it. Dunno. I'm not the organizing type, so if the idea is catching, we can solve most of the problems around it, I bet.

Re: Outdoor Trade Fest?
Originally we were going to hold it in Japantown. Brian stepped in and said to have it at the store. It was really fun in Japantown. More space, passers-by looking at us like we're lepers, a bit of sunlight, then go eat afterwards. If I can get the willpower to put together some tradebait, I'd be down for it.

Me too! I'm still living with the regret of not being able to make it to S7 last night, but I'd be up for another chance at a TradeFest. I've got lots of good and new stuff to put out on the table. Or public bench as it were....

Yours was one a few conspicuously absent faces at the party last night. I'm down for an outdoor tradefest. Sokko wrote: Me too! Re: Outdoor Trade Fest?
I'd love to attend! I have a duplicate vintage Popy Thundermask, but he's still sitting in a warehouse. Having it outdoors at Japan Town would be a lot of fun, and a good excuse to pick up Japanese groceries and other goodies as well! *Please bring Buta!

Re: Outdoor Trade Fest?
Er... anymore interest in a Trade Fest? Moshi is coming to town next weekend (from France!), and he missed the fun at the S7 Anniversary. Perhaps we could have a meet and greet with toys and eats?

Re: Outdoor Trade Fest?
But Moshi doesn't arrive until next weekend (I think) I'm also suppose to be recouperating from a short hospital stay (nothing serious). How about next week? Ergh! I have to fast the entire day tomorrow! This is going to be difficult, so please don't post any enticing pictures of food in the "Recommended Places to Eat" topic (Joe's chicken and waffles looks so delish!)

I do not think I have a lot of things to trade but I'll try to find something. I'll arrive on saturday 18th, but with the jetlag I'll probably be tired the whole weekend...So, maybe we can organize the trade fest on saturday 25th or sunday 26th?

Re: Outdoor Trade Fest?
Would it spur more interest if we've put up pics of what might be available? Or would that spoil the surprise? In either case, I've got a bunch I need to clear out, so..

Re: Outdoor Trade Fest?
post away. interestingly, before the last trade fest, I had this idea to have everyone post pics of both trade bait and trade wants. That way everybody would know what kinds of things a certain person wanted for his bait and could bring the appropriate ammo.

Re: Outdoor Trade Fest?
^ I think it will spoil the surprise and the trade fest will be less funny. I don't know how a trade fest works because I never attend one, but I think it will be less funny if everybody already know which toy he is going to trade and with who.
I hope you see what I mean.

Re: Outdoor Trade Fest?
So...Saturday the 25th or Sunday the 26th. I'd pick Sunday so no one has to worry about meters in case you park on one.

Re: Outdoor Trade Fest?
the problem dear Moshi is that it's never a surprise. I've been to every Trade Fest and usually the same kind of stuff that no one really wants is always present. Yes, a few trades are made, but in general not that many.

Yes, a few trades are made, but in general not that many. Yeah, that's my concern too. I'd much rather just have a toy-market like setup where I'd just park, put things I wanna part with on a table and you can come at me with offers of things or cash. Maybe even make a regular monthly thing or whatev. Which leads me to verify what was suggested for location. It is somewhere in Japan Town, right? Is this kinda stuff allowed or how does this work?

Re: Outdoor Trade Fest?
If it's on Saturday the 25th, I'm down.
However, I don't have much to trade except customs and resin dinos.
