Love that Silver C.I.E.L..
I have been immersed in my 12" Cyborg world. I love your 3 3/4" stuff man. It is just awesome to see everything all laid out.
Reminds me of Reuben Torres' basement!

Re: Use a table as a base!
Good call Guy, except you'd have to encase it in glass and multiply it by about 10 hahaha. Seeing Reueben's collection photos back in the mid 90's when I was starting collecting were truly mind blowing. Dave your setup is definitely reminiscent of that for sure. Re: Use a table as a base!
Hey, thanks guys. I remember pictures of Reuben's collection. He had much more going on, a much bigger display. I've already separated this into two smaller bases that look just like this: and only need a few key parts to complete a third (12 of the large octogons with the small square openings that hold the orange girders). Separated into smaller bases, I can now move them about my apartment and out of the way, and get my drafting table back. I took new pictures a few nights ago, I will update my thread on RJ this weekend.

Re: Use a table as a base!
Thanks Sanjeev That is the desired effect. I'm trying to styling this after the Macross and Robotech Factory model kits made by Revell and IMAI

Re: Use a table as a base!
YES!!
That Revell "Robotech" factory (before "Robotech" ever existed as a Harmony Gold's cobbled-together cartoon by Carl Macek) was great! I never had it, but I had some of their repackaged Dougram kits. I remember staring at that catalog shot for hours! Always wondered how they pulled off the tiny welding sparks!

Re: Use a table as a base!
Nice stuff!
If folks don’t already know, Microman has 5mm connectors, but so do Ikea book cases and stuff in the peg-holes for shelf mounts. Lots of other non-Ikea stuff have it as well, but there’s some potential there to take a bookcase and somehow “mod” it so it can operate as a display base.

Re: Use a table as a base!
Newest pictures. I've posted a few more in my R-J thread. With them as single separate bays I can put each on it's own board and stack them. Here they are, one stacked on the other. Much easier to manage and move. *my flag is hanging correctly when viewed from inside.

Re: Use a table as a base!
I love the stacking effect. The inevitable "wobble" that occurs was one of the downsides.
I have always wanted to translate everything micronaut into a 12" scale and had high hopes of building a city for the cyborgs out of this material. Years back I bought up every city I could find from Tom Vigneau and everyone into micro at the time and made sheets sheets of city parts for a giganto city, but it required boxes underneath each section. It displays best when kept at it's intended scale.

Re: Use a table as a base!
these are great fun! i have finally made my final microbase its minimalist but suits my 5mm peoples just fine. i do have a HUGE parts lot of these vintage microbase parts boxed up (over 200 parts) for making these that i no longer have any use for at all. its all clean and usable but does not include imagination. if anyone into building these has an extra Dokuroman figure by Gargamel to spare i will trade the entire box for any given one of them. you would also pay shipping which i would expect to run $20- $25 the box is filled and pretty heavy. hit me up if you want to do the exchange. i do not have pics but i can provide them.

Re: Use a table as a base!
That's a nice offer kichigai. I wish I could help out but I am still trying to complete my Dokuroman collection and don't have any doubles. Still, I'd be interested to know what spare Micronaut city parts you have.
If you have pictures of your microbase, please post them!

here is a side project that got started Final assembly of the blue BS-2 Deep Sea Operation Type Real Microman Bio Mechanic Suit. This one is a reproduction made by Romando in 1997. The red BS-01 Heat Resistance Shield Reinforced Type can be seen in the background on the left.

Re: Use a table as a base!
This is such a sweet set-up. But you can problem put that Falcon table anywhere and I would like it. I have a vision of someday doing something similar in a play-den area, maybe with Playmobil medieval castles I used to have. I love the mix of action figures and random accessories.
