Post jumbo villians rankings
would like to have some opinions here. this is just my dumbass guess . this is just a rating of most difficult to easiest to get though i doubt you could call any of these easy .

1. garada as close to impossible as it gets . just ask tom frank .three known to exsist .

2. lensari never seen one for sale . tom franks is the only one in the states that i know of .

3. rukuron have a fat wallet and a lot of luck and you may get one . this is the one i dream of getting .

4. green ghost extremely rare but not regaded as a great piece . of course i would take one in a heartbeat .

5. kingdan not nearly as popular as doublas and probably less expensive but i would say harder to find .

6. doublas lots of broken examples . probably the most popular character of the bunch .

7 kame bazooka as far as vinyls go it doesnt get much better than this .cant tell how badly i wanted this .

8. spartan very hard to find with the spear . love the way they did the eyes on this guy .

9. taiho buffalo a minitaur with rocket launchers ! whats not to like .

10. hasame jaguar this is one fucking cool looking villian . a big cat with scissors for hands . finishing last in this group is nothing to be ashamed of .

I think Bonner had a "scale of rarity" floating around somewhere. Maybe an old S7 ish?

I'm just happy that the ones I want the most rank at the bottom of the list...some day, some day. Also, in relative terms, how rare is it to get the box with some of these guys. Some of the jumbo box art I've seen is really great.

That would be #6 on the list, Doublas.

They used to routinely update a list on ToyboxDX regarding rarity, but for some reason I just can't find it. I did find this ( http://toyboxdx.com/phorum/read.php?1,1 ... msg-143764 ) that lists some known quantities, so at least a few of these can be ranked. I'm sure nekrodave can chime in on this and give you the lowdown.

In spite of being the coolest looking one (in my opinion) I feel that I've see many more Doublas Machinders than any other villains for sale over the past few years or so. I think you could even place this one as "easiset" to find, although naturally the term is relative. Such a killer toy.

I can't really disagree with that list much at this point, Jim. In the roughly 8 years I've been collecting, I'd say that Kingdan appeared way more often than Dabulas did for the first 4 years, but that has obviously changed in the last 4 years, the last year or two in particular. I might still list Spartan as rarer than Kame Bazooka, but mostly because of how hard it is to get that spear. Otherwise, it's pretty close. But Kame might be the best of the bunch. Man, it's not possible to overstate how friggin' cool that thing is in person.

I think the top four are pretty hard to argue though.

Hmmm. I may have to resurrect that TBDX thread with a more up to date list of known jumbos. I know several things have been discovered since then.

Interesting! I've only been searching the terms "machinder" on Yahoo Japan for the past few years and I don't think I've ever seen that one for sale. So does the recent phoney ebay listing of the Doublas count as another sighting...? ; ) The one that really killed me was the auction with the spikes torn off the legs (over-protective parenting? "You'll poke your eye out!"). Where did that one end up? $5,000 or something? Crazy.

Fwiw, I've updated that post on ToyboxDX, but have removed the specimen counts. I've simply lost track over the years.

Not to derail the thread but what was the lowdown on that Doublas auction? I was watching it wanting to see some fireworks then it was taken down.

I passed on a Lensari last trip to Tokyo. I thought it was more common than it apparently is. Yikes.

Duban and I were talking about this.. The Doublas is CLEARLY the most common of them all... Either that or the most available. I mean, these things come up far more regularly than the spartan, buffalo etc. Maybe it changes by year, but to be current the Doublas is easily the the most available.. Fuck me if I'm wrong..

I think it was 12K. The pic of it from Superfestival had a tag hanging from it. I think I saved it...let me dig, and I will post it. The toy was a bit worn, but not broken. Next Superfestival is at the end of April....so maybe it will show up again.

though it sure seems like there have been more doublas auctions than any of the other jumbo machinder
villians the price doesnt seem to have changed much . the demand for this character still seems to be high .
the kame bazooka with box for less money seems to have no takers .
