 Re: Resin Show at TAG
There are still some really great pieces available. Its sad to have seen the show get so "poisoned" just from the opinions of a few people who I didn't even know who they were two weeks ago. I find it a bit discouraging to have seen so much "discourse" directed at how the "artists" couldn't take criticism, when there were just judges and judges friends publicly slamming the whole show on their "art toy" blogs. I don't blame the organizers or TAG except for choosing people totally out of touch with most of the toys in the show, and then for TAG to stand by while the judges continued to run rampant with their opinions and not issue any statement of their own. I'm not really sure a gallery is where I want to buy my toys anyway, or else I'd be looking at kid robot and loving all their QC ridden art.

 Re: Resin Show at TAG
I'm going to put in my 2 cents. I have a thick skin so feel free to attack me with you're crazy venom without any sort of actual evidence to what you say or prior knowledge. I eat that stuff up. 1. I knew that I'd be up against resin legends like Paul Kaiju since I asked prior to the show who was in it, something I'm sure anyone could have done if they took the time and I also knew he'd win hands down so I didn't enter. Also, our resin wasn't ready in the end. He did win. In fact the two people I said would win did win...not because it was rigged but because they were the best in show. If you can't admit to that then you need to do your research better or you're suffering from sour grapes. If you want to be that idiot who runs around announcing on forums that an established designers' toys only sell out because of the resin he uses...that's your perrogative. There were a lot of guys who do resin who WEREN'T in the show.
2. I know some of the judges personally and they are pretty outstanding people so I doubt most of the BS I've read about them here especially when I've read their blogs and can't see any evidence of what some of you have sprouted. Seems like sour grapes and thats how you come accross. In fact I can see evidence of one guy who has a reputation for openly moving from forum to forum and inexplicably picking fights with other resin makers being a twat (which is his m.o.) and rabble rousing while a bunch of other people who were involved in the show are saying they had a good time regardless of what other people are saying. So not sure what the real problem was. All the negative things **I've** read on the net were from people who either weren't there or guys who have a reputation for only writing very negative garbage about designer toys like Matthew Hissey's TOYPINIONATED and then complaining that they have a bad name in the toy industry. Do you see a pattern here? Sometimes shows go wrong when there isn't time to set them up. It's THAT simple. If you weren't involved in any way then you don't have any real reason to be bad mouthing or criticising something especially if you've never even WORKED with resin. It's GREAT to be in a show....any show. Who cares if people think your work is s-h-i-t? People release cruddy products every day and it doesn't stop them from continuing to do it. I've seen worse shows than the TAG show. The designer toy community needs to support itself no matter what and not pull this garbage or it will self implode very quickly. You don't p-o-o in you're own cornflakes. 3. I saw that strip show. It was hot. Demi Moore...not so hot with her 22 y.o daughter. She took my $5...her thong ate it.

 Re: Resin Show at TAG
I find it odd that most people's opinion of the show seems to be based on one person's blog (who wasn't involved) and the fact that they didn't like 2-3 of the pieces out of over 80.

Seriously. There were plenty of great pieces and I'm sure the show was fun for those that were able to attend. What more do people want?

That's a hell of a haul, and really shows off the diversity of resin makers. Eff the haters, long live resin!

 Re: Resin Show at TAG
The Pizza Bat and the Galaxy people were a few of my favorites from the show.
But not the two headed birdy thing.

Rumor is that Dirty Pizza Bat will be having a new main squeeze moving in soon.

 Re: Resin Show at TAG
Yes congrats as well as that one in particular was my favorite of the 3, though I would have gladly taken any of PK's Batsy DX submissions - next time around for sure! And I have absolutely no idea who the lucky collector was
