What is THAT?
OOoooooh, I didn't know that existed! Gotta get it!
THAT would be, judging from the art in the first photo and the blurry type in the second, "The Complete On The Corner Sessions" of Miles Davis.
"On the Corner" was an early '70s exploration ... very very funky. The final cut was a Burroughsian "cut up" of music from the jam sessions. At the time of its release, it was seriously hated on by people for various reasons. Some people thought the cover art was more racist than funky, many Jazz snobs thought the music just wasn't Jazz or was a perversion of it ... it was too funky for jazz people, too jazzy for funk people ... something like that. In retrospect, it's just brilliant, clearly way ahead of its time. It's got a very crunchy repetitive sound, very compelling. Maybe boring to some ears but if you like exploratory music and can dig the whole Miles evolution, it's a real landmark and a great listen.
Just this past week I bought The Complete Bitches Brew Sessions and it's been totally blowing me away. Great stuff.
