night buses get you around london quicker than the daily ones,,they have gotten better with red Ken,,,much more frequent...

they really should run the tubes 24-hours a day,,,,like nyc,,,but it is not psychically possible...the tracks need to be cleaned & repaired...

nyc has the only 24-hour post office...beat that!!!!!!

i have gone 18years without owning a car,,,living in nyc & london..

i understand how this is close to impossible in most places...(i cheated anyway for about 4years when my partner owned a mini,,,which i was reliant one when it was time to get out of london for the night/weekend)...

i want to make a documentary about night buses in blackpool,,,i bet those are a real adventure!!!!!

We have one here in Boston too :)

Yeah we had a night bus service that went to a few neighborhoods, but nobody utilized them so the service was canned.

Our main subway lines here shut down around 1 AM and start back uparound 5 AM. It's too early on the weekends, but as we get older we like having a car to get around. No hassle with waiting for a bus at 11 Pm to get home.

Personally i'd love to see a ban on SUV's in general. Not only are most driven by suburban soccer moms completely out of touch with the planet, they drain valuable resources. But hell it's no secret that the oil industry and the automobile industry which totally rely on each other have be raping the public for years marketing the cars and dumb people completely out of touch with reality keep buying them. They also have huge lobbying going on in Washington DC. These are the same people who moan about gas costly 70 bucks to fill their tank. Hey you get what you pay for and more dumb-ass!

I'd like to really suggest a book for everyone to read by James Kunstler called "Long Emergency" about the upcoming complete oil crisis pending in the next twenty or so years. Suburbia is in for quite the rude awakening.
