Ikea spare parts help needed
Looking for some help in locating spare parts, and I thought a fellow ‘brainer might be able to assist.
I’m looking for a four extra pieces of Detolf hardware: the two silver parts that bracket to the door-corners and on which it hinges; the small silver handle-tab which you pull to open the door; and the magnet piece which mounts to the underside of the “lid”, which the handle-tab sticks to when closed.
I’ve called Ikea directly and was told that they do absolutely no spare parts orders; they said I would have to go to the “parts recovery” (spare parts) section in an actual Ikea store and see if they have these parts packaged to go (they may or may not; the section is a crapshoot with no standard stock).
Well, the Ikea nearest to me is 3.5 hours away…so, if anyone here frequents a nearby Ikea, and could check on these parts for me next time they go, I would greatly appreciate it. Alternatively, if someone has these parts for sale, or could offer info on getting equivalent parts elsewhere, I’d welcome that info, too.
This need arises from the fact that I’m moving a bunch of toys from a Detolf to a section of the wall-mounted shelves in our living room, but I would like to mount a Detolf-style safety-glass door on that section. These parts are all I need to accomplish this.
