 Ultra Q DVD's: questions...
It’s high time I looked into getting Ultra Q on DVD; my VHS dub of various episodes is getting a bit worn.
Does anyone here own them?
Have there been different editions, and if so, which is the best to get?
I assume that none of the releases are region 1 or region-free, right?
(Yes, I still don’t own an all-region player…I see you rolling your eyes, Skylar!)
Lastly- were individual discs released, or just a full-series box set?
I’m mainly interested in getting ep’s 13 and 16 (obviously )……
Thanks for reading!

only ones I know of are the fairly expensive, region 2 Japanese DVD box set, which is of course unsubtitled
there may have been single disc releases with several episodes per disc. I'll check on that for you.

Cool, Skylar!
Thanks!
Yeah, I figured that a subtitled edition hasn't been released...that's fine by me. My dub has no subs, either.

Got em on ebay actually

Yup, all I've got is volume 4 with Kanegon, Garamon, and Pegila. I used to work at Kinokuniya and all the old workers there remembered the twist ending to the Kanegon episode even though they were not big fans of tokusatsu or anything. I think the retail on this was 3700yen.

Haha. I only have Disc 4 too. I would recommend the box though, it has extra stuff that I think you will highly appreciate.

So how was Ultra Q setup? Was it the same science patrol in Ultraman sans Ultraman?
(Never seen one - maybe the company that release the Ultraman sets will get the rights to this.)

No Science Patrol. It was more like an X-Files, but with journalists investigating strange phenomena (ending with a strange monster).

Thanks for all the info, guys!
I may just seek out disc four...the whole set looks cool, but it's damn pricey!
Disc 4 owners: does that one contain both of the Garamon eps (#'s 13 and 16)?
In my trawlings, I did come across this cool promo clip they did for the set:

Yeah, it does. It has episodes 13-16 with a sweet still of Kanegon on the cover.

Yeah, I have been putting off getting the box because of the price. The extras make it worth the price though if I could just get the money together.
