Will be with my girlfriend for 5 years 4th of July
I'm lucky I found someone just as crazy as me
Miarage soon. We also booth agree that big weddings are pointless and way over rated. Just big ass marketing ploys. Love isn't about a 20,000 dollar dress.
And BD dude your so right I have also seen to many that care more about that day then the actual relationship. I think its just a shallow persons move. So many women care more about getting the wedding right than getting the relationship right. Very sad indeed.
And I have thought about the Vegas wedding thing also. I think it would be pretty fun. But I would have to be wearing the Elvis suit !

My girl and I are 4yrs strong! we'll get married one of these days. I'm not into big weddings either, but my gf has been helping her friends with their weddings and I think she's digging all the pretty things about it. Our wedding will be nice, but not something we're still paying for on our 25th anniversary.

Hear hear! Notice the pic I posted in this thread of my wedding. My wife is wearing a dress she bought for all of $20, and I'm wearing a Ben Sherman button down shirt that had been in my closet for three years. Sure we can afford more, but why? We were married by the local JP at a local park. No expensive ceremony. No $20,000 dress. Just a pair of knuckleheads and a little love. Awwww.

Never married and I was happily single until I very recently realized that I have me a girlfriend. I shoulda known I'd fall for her when the first time I went to her place, I spotted her Godzilla toys.

What one of my co-workers says about marriage: "Roger, remember that marriage has three rings: the engagement ring, the wedding ring, and the suffering."
But consider the alternative, the joy of dating. Here's a list of things not to do when meeting a potential dating partner for the first time:
- Propose a meeting time that’s only an hour in the future.
- 15 minutes before the agreed meeting time, send a text message postponing the meeting time by 45 minutes.
- When you finally arrive, don’t use the word “sorry” or try to explain what happened to make you late.
- Admit that you have berated your coworkers to the point of tears during meetings.
- Use the word “hate” a lot. You hate your neighbors, you hate your clients, etc.
- Don’t try and start any conversations. Ask no questions of the person talking to you.
- Insinuate that the online dating service the two of you met through is weird and stupid, and you only signed up for it because you were drunk.
- Don’t make even a polite attempt to pay for the drinks you consumed.
- Don’t thank the other person for paying for the drinks.
- Send a text message saying, “Hey, just wanted to thank u again and say that I had fun 2night,” making the recipient wonder when you said thank you the first time.

with my lady for over 2 years. Not married yet but it's kinda like we are. I support her and she lets me collect. I say thats cool. She's in art school right now so maybe after she is finished. 2 more years to go I think. But I'm happy.

Lauren first saw me in an organic chemistry class in college, then at the science library where I worked (pushing a noisy cart around while picking up books), and finally at an irish pub where a friend of hers brought her to my attention. Good thing, as having her by my side has made the past 11 years the happiest of my life. We remain unmarried, though are determined to get around to it sooner or later.
Lauren and I in Germany during the world cup.

I'm engaged. We are getting married on May 31st of this year. I'm so stoked. I will say this much, before I met her I had no interest in EVER getting married. I think when you meet that one person things just click and it's so intense. She totally changed my life, so much for the better I can't express it enough. I'm a lucky duck.

I've been with my significant other for 5 years this may (apart from a 6 month 'break' a couple of years ago.)
We have 2 children, 1 and 3 - and will get around to the ceremony at some point i guess. For me, as some others have already said it's the bond we have that's most special rather than blowing a stack of cash on one day. Memories can come from any occasion together, you don't need to be wearing a dress/suit.

One wife, 4 kids. My wife is currently taking time away from her Nintendo DS to build the big Lego Millenium Falcon. The younger kids let me play with their toys and we have lots of fun. My BFA student just sent me a drawing of Gigan for my birthday. My other college student makes awesome home brew. I have the greatest family ever!!

Third marriage, must be a charm. Or, I'm not a quick learner and/or she has low self-esteem. Hard to guage that one... congrats to all with more longevity!
