PM if you got any suggestions! The four or us have been searching all week. Thanks.
I'll need to ask my friend.
Think he's reserved a couple of places.
He's still deciding where he wants to stay.

you're just gonna have to keep constantly checking the site. some people will start canceling as it gets closer and they will most likely add more hotels, which they seem to usually do.
but yeah, believe it or not, but pretty much the whole town gets booked up. I had a hell of a time the last couple years when I missed out on the day the hotel registration opened.

Don't worry too much... At this point, people have reservations, but they haven't paid yet. Later on, people will drop rooms when they find out that they can't make it, or their room mates made reservations at better hotels than they made.
Keep checking in on the reservation site, and check again after July 10th... that's when people will lose a deposit if they cancel after that date.

Two things I have heard rumors about for this years SDCC:
1. There will be a party. Not nerdquake but something else is already scheduled.
2. Two well known posters are planning to get married at the convention. Its supposed to happen under the G sign in the hallway on Saturday. Nachos will be served.

Although those are well known posters, it is not those two. Think east coast.

Knowing the last minute nature of cons, does anyone have good intel on any events (signings, exclusives, appearances, trailers, etc.) this far out?
PS I got a sweet hotel.

Best Western Yacht Harbor Hotel 5005 N Harbor Drive San Diego , California i think a couple others might be there as well, toybot sold out and went closer. I'm there too. It's a little far, but not that bad. I'm still hoping there's a shuttle running along that strip (which is a pretty major road - the same one the convention center is on, only N, not W). As I said previously, two years ago we stayed on a strip parallel to this (Harbor Island Drive) and there were shuttles going back and forth once an hour or so. The "official" CCon shuttles only seem to run in the immediate Con area, so I think these might have been run by the various hotels. Regardless, even if I have to take cabs I saved enough $ by not staying downtown to afford it. And if we can coordinate cab rides, so much the better.
Looks like a party is brewing at the Best Western Yacht Horbor.
Just book my rooms there also.
ps; I don't drive so will be into the cab sharing thing.
