does anyone here like AFI? i dled the new cd and its fucking great. the first song sets the mood for the cd. and miss murder is like my song of the week. if you like them you should check this out.

the new album is too much emo for me, dont like it.

when weren't they gothy glamy emo?
i hate to admit i like one of their songs every so often
but they seriously are way too into themselves and their look
its like my chemical romance

i haven't downloaed it yet.. i keep debating it...
but i can't bring myself to do it
after the last alkaline trio cd stayed on my mp3 player for months
and im still working through all the music slack got me
some of which i hide in a closet to listen to so no one knows
(cough mae, cough)

their first two albums sound absolutely nothing like what they play now. i used to like them when i was in college, but starting with the addition to jade whatever-his-name-is on shut your mouth and open yours eyes (and really emerging on black sails) they turned themselves into this goth-core band which with every release has gotten more and more self-indulgent and ridiculous. i still have sort of a soft spot for them, and i've seen them live more than any other band, but i can't stand the stuff they put out now and i think every new release is worse than the one before it.

beirut's gulag orkestar is a fucking incredible album though.
