 Manheim Steamroller.
I generally dislike Christmas music, but I think Manheim Steamroller is the worst of it. Music by robots, for robots.
I really don't care about what anyone else thinks of them.

 Re: Manheim Steamroller.
calling Manheim Steamroller robot music is an insult to robot musicians everywhere. they are possibly the worst thing I have ever heard, and my dear old mom insists on playing them during the holidays. needless to say, my wife and I keep the holiday visits to the family brief. that crap is like muzak on meth.

I couldn't believe I actually saw the words "Manheim Steamroller" in a Skullbrain thread title, but when I saw how you feel about them, reality seemed safe again. It IS the worst Christmas music. All MS music I've heard is an insult to music itself, not to mention the human ear. This is an annual point of venting with some of my friends. It's beyond us to understand why that stuff sells and returns to haunt us each year. It's okay to go all Grinch on Manheim Steamroller. I'd rather listen to water going down a drain. Or like kichigai, acceptable music by robots for robots...

 Re: Manheim Steamroller.
I had a part-time job a few years ago working in a stationery store at Christmas time. One of the Mannheim Steamroller cds played on continuous loop the ENTIRE MONTH I worked there. I left there every night so tense I went through 4 Costco-sized bottles of scotch in that 4 weeks. I cannot imagine anyone wanting to subject themselves willingly to that saccharine, soulless, artless crap - yet every day dozens of people would ask what that 'wonderful music' playing was.

 Re: Manheim Steamroller.
my dad dug M.S.--we listen to motown christmas music more nowadays. He wasn't the concert type though (I guess I'm lucky?)
I generally don't like christmas music, but a lot of memories come with it ya know? it's the nostalgia that gets me.
