yes! And what an ending! Kind of on a downer though but still a shocker! Yes, bring on the next season. Lithgow played that role superbly. I was really hoping he would be a recurring character in a later season.

Re: anyone see the last Dexter
Rita mentions the moon in her voicemail, but Dex captured Trinity when it was still light out, so there is some sort of twist there, either a dream or perhaps an unexpected killer. I certainly won't miss her nagging, and I hope the kids are MIA next season, let the grandparents have 'em.
Overall I would say the weak pacing and time wasted with the LaGuerta/Batista romance (which was totally anticlimactic) really weighed down the season. Lithgow is so talented and was underused imho.

Overall I would say the weak pacing and time wasted with the LaGuerta/Batista romance (which was totally anticlimactic) really weighed down the season. Lithgow is so talented and was underused imho. Rita said the moon was going to be fantastic (or wonderful, something like that), so no contradictions there. I would have to agree about the pacing, but just until the point Dexter smashed that light. The series was leaning dangerously into soap opera territory, and I was so sure Rita was going to accuse Dexter of being the vandal. After she didn't I felt the show pulled itself out of a pretty steep nosedive. Big question that won't ever be answered is how much did Rita find out about Dexter in her last moments?

Re: anyone see the last Dexter
I am so glad they killed her! 1- She was annoying (and I didn't find her hot) 2- I was so psyched they unsettled his comfort zone like that. I was thinking "well this has to be the last seasons yeesh!" than they brought the heat. Trinity was an amazing too, such a creep. I've gotta feeling Rita will still be in the show the same way Harry is, like an anti-Harry. Harry will pop up all "he's yours Dexter, take him out, he's a killer" and Rita will pop in like "no you don't have to, you have evidence find a legal way to get him convicted!" The ultimate cock block for Dex!
Best ending to a season I've seen maybe ever. Blew. My. Face. Off.

Re: anyone see the last Dexter
Agreed, it was an amazing ending. However I'm still wondering who actually did it (if it was real at all). Trinity? Doesn't fit his MO (unless he just went off the reservation knowing he was blowing town). And if so, the timing seems off. Rita takes a taxi to the airport, forgets her ID, takes a cab back home, then what? The cab leaves? Trinity pays the cabbie off? Dex was in the trunk, you'd think he'd have been maybe somewhat aware that Trinity was making a weird stop at his own house. Suicide? Maybe Rita found something about Dex and couldn't handle it. Dream sequence? If that's the case, I'm done watching. I think dream sequences set up as big cliffhangers are the biggest, shittiest copouts any show/movie can make.
Here's hoping Season 5 is a blast!

Re: anyone see the last Dexter
I assume Trinity did it while Dex was at Trinity's house with his family. He found Dex by seeing something at Deb's I assume, setting up for a "OMG IT'S MY FAULT" subplot for Deb for a few episodes. I'm also getting an idea of Paul's parents taking Aster and Cody leaving Dex with just Harrison, maybe Deb moving in to help? Rita's mom coming back tot ry and get custody, all more drama, all the while Quinn and Deb figuring out Dex might be nuts. There's lots of different ways they can go. I just wanna see how he copes with it. He can't get revenge, dude's dead, how fucking horrible!!!!!! AND AWESOME!

Re: anyone see the last Dexter
according to an interview with the producers... 1. Rita is really dead. they wanted to really shake things up because everyone knew Dexter was going to kill Arthur 2. Rita is probably not going to come back as a ghost ala Harry, but who knows. 3. Trinity did really kill Rita. Unsure if Arthur told her anything, but probably not. http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/12/13/ ... ostmortem/

Re: anyone see the last Dexter
Well what could Arthur tellk Rita? Up until his old balls were wrapped up in plastic he didn't know Dex was a killer. He just thought he was trying to extort money from him.
