 Clear Vinyl question
Is clear (transparent) vinyl only makable in one colour? Or can you have different colours in the same piece of clear vinyl?
I hope you can understand what I mean. From what I've seen, I have the feeling, production process can only allow one colour. Like, I've never seen a piece of transparant vinyl blue / yellow / grey, with nice and clean transition (not "melting" from one colour to another)?

if the process is at all like making vinyl records, they could throw some other colors in at the last minute to get a swirled color effect.
i have seen half and half colored vinyl, swirled. etc.
that would be sweet.

I think Kozik mentioned that it's problematic to do this with vinyl toys... sounded like you could do it once, but you'd have to stop and clean everything off, and start over repeating the process one piece at a time rather than having be a fully automated process.

OK, so for instance, you could never, as of now, have a clear piece of vinyl with clear colored (transparent) letters.. ? mm ok.. Looks very complicated to fabricate indeed..

It's possible, but I think you'd have to stencil/pad print the letters and use a transparent paint to get the effect... that's the cheaper, mass production-friendly way of doing it.

Got it Loco, thanks! So that system could eventually be a fully automated process?
To have different colours, all of them transparent, vinyl has to be clear, and painting must be transparent as well!? I never thought of that possibility..
