 Re: Motown podcasts
Yesterday I temporarily put up a post indicating that I had an all-Motown broadcast going. Within an hour, three people visited. All three disconnected as soon as a country song came on. The label is rightly known for its r&b/soul artists but they did release a number of country singles, and circa '69-'70 some "Acid Rock" including singles by Rare Earth. It can be a little startling to go from Martha and the Vandellas to some country guy yodeling about Jesus if you're not expecting it. And then there are the Christmas songs...

 Re: Motown podcasts
Not a podcast NOR motown but a very cool show from the 60s called Soul. http://www.thirteen.org/soul/Quote: This entertainment-variety-talk show was not only a vehicle to promote African-American artistry, community and culture, but also a platform for political expression and the fight for social justice. It showcased classic live musical performances from funk, soul, jazz, and world musicians, and had in-depth, extraordinary interviews with political, sports, literary figures and more. It was the first program on WNET to be recorded with the then-new technology of videotape, and most of the shows were recorded in real-timeānot live, but unedited. Check it out its quite interesting and awesome music

 Re: Motown podcasts
Kinda surprising, isn't it GoldenArmKid? Abe, I'm watching the '73 Earth Wind and Fire clips. Amazing! My first thought was "remember when people played instruments?"
