Post SAL Shipments From Japan
Quick question. Do SAL shipments from Japan have any insurance coverage?

I recently lost a package (it's nearly 90 days but still no show) sent by Celga and when I emailed them about it they said there's nothing they can do. No partial credit no nothing.

SAL is a definite no-no . . . always hit the EMS option!

I'd say unfortunately you're SOL!

nope,,no insurance,,that is part of the SAL deal..

but have faith,,it will show up...UNLESS,,your delivery address is prone to the post office leaving it on your doorstep/lobby where it could get nicked..

Yeah...it's the cheap option but not insured. I used SAL by mistake one time from Kaiju-taro and my package took approximately 3 months. I'm glad it did arrive but it was a pain in the ass and I wouldn't use it again.

As regards filing an insurance claim he's SOL . . . getting the goods, maybe, eventually, one day when he's least expecting it!

You've obviously still to experience the full-blown retarded nature of Parcelfarce if you think anything's 'guaranteed'!

Damn, thanks for info. Well there's only one item in the package and it's for my wife ;) But it did cost me around $100 (auction price + commission + shipping + etc etc). Btw, Celga's service has been fine but this time around their email etiquette needs improvement. I'll keep it short and simple. CUSTOMER SERVICE FAIL.

I've had SAL shipments in the past, they usually take a lot longer than expected, but also always get here. I do prefer EMS though. 90% of the time.
