Not sure if you've seen this, I have for the first time a few minutes ago and to be honest I'm literally blown away.

This is recent news (I found it today, just before posting) and considering the BBC is involved I doubt it's a hoax. Very powerful images IMO.

are they still uncontacted if they're visited and filmed by the BBC?

Post Re: Uncontacted Tribes
Not that I want to endlessly discuss this topic, I posed it more than anything because I found the footage pretty powerful but before reading what geekologie has to say I'd also take a look at the FAQ (which answers a lot of the doubts and questions one may have):

What are ‘undiscovered’ or ‘lost’ tribes?
This is empty sensationalism. It’s extremely unlikely there are any tribes whose existence is totally unknown to anyone else.

What do you mean by ‘uncontacted’?
Peoples who have no peaceful contact with anyone in the mainstream or dominant society. There are about 100 uncontacted tribes in the world.

Does that mean they have no contact with anyone else at all?
No. Everyone has neighbours, even when they’re some distance away, and they’ll know who they are. If it’s another tribe, perhaps also uncontacted, they may or may not have friendly relations with them.

Will they ever have been in contact?
In some cases, probably. Some may have been in touch with the colonist society in the past, even in past centuries, and then retreated from the violence which that brought. Some may once have been part of larger tribal groups, and split off and moved away, fleeing contact.
Some who now grow no crops, but rely purely on gathering wild foods, may have had vegetable gardens in the past. They may have stopped cultivating because of the need to flee the encroaching society.

I'm so sad for that people, from now they are fucked.
I think will be so good to be not connected to the actual world
with is bad life style and no connection with nature.

Post Re: Uncontacted Tribes
i remember a year ago or so going on yahoo and reading up on an "uncontacted tribe" that was photographed, then a few weeks later it was proven a hoax.
i saw this picture on yahoo earlier this week, and if memory serves me right, it's the same picture.
i remember the tribe holding on to their bows and what not.

It's the same pics and article but slightly modified and it's from 2008. They just keep clarifying the verbal 'terminology' from "lost and undiscovered" to "uncontacted."

Apparently they've been monitoring this tribe for years. I don't why they keep recycling the same article. Must be a slow news day.
