Re: I KNEW IT - ALIENS DO EXIST (ask Mexico)
I think there are a lot of strong theories and possible evidence in support of ancient aliens. I think a lot of people won't admit their belief or are closed to the idea because they are afraid of being ridiculed or mocked Because the idea isn't mainstream. I think more joke about it because they want to discuss it, but afraid of being thought of as a loon. I think it's a disservice to human history and our future to let the idea go uninvestigated and I'm glad more people are taking notice and shows like ancient aliens and this film are putting the ideas out there.

I'd argue that "Ancient Aliens" the show does nothing but dissuade possible believers. It's, possibly, the worst show I've ever seen but also the funniest. I like the topic a lot however. Stargate's awesome (movie not show.)

I agree with you that these theories should be investigated. But I also think that it's a disservice to human history, in that a large part of the "logic" behind the Ancient Alien theories, is that humans didn't have it in them to do the things we did back then. We couldn't have figured this out or built something so amazing so.... it had to be aliens helping us.

After watching people who have spent their lives building things flail around a bathroom remodel for three weeks longer than quoted, only to leave you with a shoddy job and inflated bill you may reconsider. I wish some aliens had probed them into some excellence!

Yeah but contractors can pull that shit cause they won't be beaten/killed/starved if they do.

Re: I KNEW IT - ALIENS DO EXIST (ask Mexico)
I work with a multitude of contractors on a daily basis so I am overly familiar with the current state of things. BD6969 is right though. The necessity to innovate and overcome to survive is gone from the current equation. People did what they did back then because they had too. Or were forced to. Necessity is the mother of invention.

Re: I KNEW IT - ALIENS DO EXIST (ask Mexico)
I was just kidding I know quite a few great guys in the business. I do agree that ancient people and their knowledge/capabilities are often underrated in these discussions/TV shows. Like right before they built the pyramids they were just standing naked and clueless, picking their noses in the jungle. Rugged conditions bread strong, resourceful humans. People back then had to be hardcore, have you seen the infant mortality rate? You pretty much had to punch your way out if you wanted a decent chance of surviving childbirth. Sure the pyramids are impressive but so are the millions of other achievements along the way that brought people to the point of building them. The extent to which we are reliant on the mass of accumulated knowledge is dumbfounding.

Re: I KNEW IT - ALIENS DO EXIST (ask Mexico)
I agree, no one brings up aliens when trying to "explain" cathedrals or roman aqueducts or the completely terraced mountains of asia. The pyramid is the most basic form of construction, its basically just a pile of stuff. Get enough peple piling up enough stuff for long enough and : Ta-Da, you got yourself an impressive pyramid.
Look at things like the Watts Towers, or Le Palais Ideal du Facteur Cheval or Leonard Knights Salvation Mountain. These were created by single individuals over less than one lifetime, just imagine what kind of giant and impressive structures could be created by well organised people marshalling a workforce of thousands over many generations and you get cathedrals, Mayan pyramids and whatever other masterwork of monumental architecture you can think of.
