Internet hipsters and tough guys killed the thread. Stealthtank went through the thread and blanked all of his awesome posts one by one, so a mod probably deleted the thread afterwards because there's no trace of it is left.

Something about how sofubi should stay in Japan and how silly Americans would never be able to master the production even with the right equipment because its too dangerous and complicated.

As for veraciousvinyl/meanmistert's production I think he just let the domain expire. If you message him I'm pretty sure he's still working on it.

rather than having it all spread across the thread. There may have been some concerns overkeeping jvinyl in japan and also the safety of people who might try the shit without taking proper precautions and learning safety procedures. I dont think those remarks killed the thread though..

I'm still working on editing all of the info into a nice concise read, free of much of the rambling and conjecture present in my previous thread. Also, since my first posting, a few people have contacted me and given me suggestions on easier ways to prototype, etc. which I plan to include in the manual as well.

On the actual vinyl-making front, I've worked with a local food truck manufacturer on possibly retrofitting a unit so that I might install a commercial salt bath and electroplating tank, complete with hood and all of the necessary safety requirements. This would enable me to have a mobile vinyl-making workshop, which I'd park in the backyard and take on the road for shows, etc.

My only real hurdle is convincing the wife to go along with the plan, however up to this point she's vetoed the idea. Especially seeing as I already used a big chunk of savings on opening the Super7 store a couple of years back. So that leaves me with the dilemma of selling a big chunk of my collection to fund the idea, which I'm not super comfortable with doing at the moment. But I can't say I haven't been tempted by the idea.

Hipsters just don't find threads about vinyl production to be as cool as skinny jeans and gearless bikes.
