First, apologies for what I'm about to suggest, but I don't actually have any selling experience here, nor on ebay.
But. I was wondering if it has ever been considered in the history of BST to exploit private/invitation-only ebay sales.
The way I'd see it is Sellers would announce sales with their ebay uid here and allow the various features of that service do the work for them.
You could still limit the target audience to this board, adjust prices etc. then if it doesn't sell and you feel like it, open it up for non-SB buyers.
That's an interesting idea, since it ties the buyer to their eBay ID and feedback profile.
However, the real problem is that people are sitting on their hands for waaaay too long in taking action when someone is not sending them stuff that was promised in exchange for toys or money. If they are not going to air their grievances here, would they be that much quicker to leave negative eBay feedback? Moreover that kind of kills the benefit of forum sales for sellers.
I'm not opposed to the idea of a feedback forum, actually, but I think the problem is that it will require a ton of work from the admins to keep people from using it as a personal complaint box. The solution is really to be cautious as a buyer, seller, trader, whatever on this forum or any forum. If you don't trust a person, search their user name before sending them anything. Don't send gift payments. If it's been more than a month and you haven't seen your promised items, maybe it's time for a public thread.
