Intriguing...

Did anybody here see them at CB's recently?
How did they (HR especially) do?

An unsurprising bummer...was it mainly HR issues, or was the whole band lacklustre?

Much like the Misfits this band is trying its best to ruin what they meant...

I think we all should remember when this happened before and MADONNA put out an album...

from wiki pedia

God of Love is the seventh full-length studio album from hardcore punk and reggae pioneers Bad Brains. It is the first Bad Brains album since 1989 to feature the band's original lineup. The band were signed by longtime fan Madonna to her Maverick Records label in 1995 on the condition that the classic lineup reunite for the album.
The release contains more reggae than any other Bad Brains album, although the heavy title track received video airplay on MTV. Backed by huge promotion from the label and an opening slot on the Beastie Boys Ill Comminucation tour, the band fell apart as volatile singer H.R. was arrested in several instances involving the assault of a fan, a security guard, and the band's manager in separate incidents throughout the tour. The band missed a homecoming performance at Madison Square Garden with the Beastie Boys due to H.R.'s behavior, leading to yet another breakup.
This album has been out of print since 2002.

.

I specifically went to this show to see Bad Brains with HR. Not really the Beastie Boys. Can you imagine my dissapointment? That's when I realzed that Bad Brains would never be the band they once were. Madonna, got to love the girl for trying and sticking her neck out. Saw her in A.C. recentely and was blown away by her show. Been a fan since her first album.

I saw them in Seattle in 2002 at the Rock Candy.

I believe it was all original members.

The band played 2 sets - one all fast songs, one all slow songs.

Now, I never saw them back in the day, nor was I a big fan (though I do like several songs), but that night in 2002 I was entertained and got to hear every song I wanted (and then some).

Maybe I'm lame but I don't have a problem with seeing (some of) these reunion shows.

The Misfits with Graves as a singer was a good cover band. At least you had 2 original members...While I doubt any of their original material in this incarnation will be memorable, the band was fun to watch.

From 1998 to 2003, I lived in Seattle. For 3 years in a row, the Experience Music Project hosted a "Hey Punk" skate/music/art event. I attended very year and got to see a slew of reunion bands...

the Adolescents, Drunk Injunes, Los Avedados, the Faction, and at least a dozen other bands that I didn't have the opportunity to see back when.

Is that blasphemy?

The difference is these bands above played for the novelty of doing a show.
ONE SHOW. Not a tour. Not a new Career.
Not cashing in on what they ONCE were.

Drunk Injuns? Fuckin' rad.

I don't mind some of the reunion shows. I saw the Zero Boys a couple months ago and it was amazing. I saw the Avengers recently too and it was pretty damn good. The first time I saw the new Misfits was great but each time after that was worse and worse. The shows with Dez and Marky Ramone were downright horrible.

Haven't seen the Bad Brains play since the late '80's. Man, I miss those days, seems like yesterday I was hangin backstage at the IBeam on Haight Street with my pals in the Dwarves and Jello dropping by.

Now, all I can think of is that DAMN GID Skullpirate that I missed. That's fucked up!
