Are they nice in-hand? What are the joints like? Are they hefty or feel cheap? I've been wanting to grab one or two, but thought I'd see what you guys thought of them first.

I'm not sure about the 1000%, but I'd say it really depends on the version for the 400%. It doesn't feel like they're always made of the same plastic. That being said, the overall stabdard is fairly high. The joints are "notched", meaning they "lock" in a few different angles, they're not round/ball joints like on the 100%.

I wish I could tell you about the wooden ones but I've never had the pleasure of holding one.

Which one were you aiming for?

400% are really nice - very sturdy. The three that I have owned we really solid - I've never gone for any of the fuzzy costumed ones though.

I have a set of 400% Be@rbrick and 1000% Kubricks, I am assuming they use the same Be@rbrick body molds for the Kubricks too.

The build of the 1000% is strong and they stand solid while still fairly lightweight . I wouldn't pick them up only by an arm for obvious reasons - however when I want to move the joints they move and secure smoothly. Definitely sturdy pieces and a nice stand out pieces for filling a large space!

I cant tell any significant quality difference between the 1000% and 400% I own, they are some of my favorite pieces and well made.

I'm looking at a muveil version. The wooden ones are so far out of my price range, but it would be nice. 1000% versions...I'm still just looking around. It would have to be something that really resonates with me.

Initially, the 400% figures were made of vinyl or a vinyl like product. They were very poorly made, wouldn't always stand properly, leaned and would tumble over. It wasn't until later, when they began using PVC, thickly, that the product QC became better. Most of the time, the joints stay in place and the figure stands fine and can bend slightly, etc. They can still become top heavy if you try to lean them too far forward and they topple over. This is especially true with the wood versions. And if those topple... well, that kinda' sucks

The 1000% are the same. They are pretty dang sturdy and the articulation is solid. But from time to time, they can become a little loose. It's (mostly) hit or (rarely) miss really. Typical Chinese manufacturing problems. There are some great designs out there. I dig the Sky Tree and the designer releases mostly. The Lisa Larson and Helsinki releases were great imo. The new Pollock 400% looks cool to me. Hate the Star Wars and various Grendizer, etc. figs tho

I really want the chogokin 200% chrome version, but aftermarket prices are so damn high.
In china, someone is selling knock-off wood versions.

I heard the Chinese wooden ones are actually decent. The official wooden ones are sadly flipper magnets.

Would love 400% Jellys as well, though my wallet wouldn't. The one clear 400% I have (Hawaii) seems to be made in a different plastic though. More fragile? Might just be an impression though.

I have the Eames 200% and it is gorgeous. I am with you on the Chrome - would love one, but not at the price it goes for.

Agree about the older vs newer being very different. I have an early 400% Be@rbrick that is soft vinyl, and it is leaning pretty bad after about 15 years on the shelf. Meanwhile I have several of the hard plastic ones that are sturdy as hell and stand up great. I have only 1 1000% Kubrick-(Andy Warhol) and he's been fantastic. Moved a few times with me, been standing, sitting, and bumped into near a doorway, but he's still just great. Really good quality and the joints on all of mine are really solid even after a lot of years.

They joints are about teh same as the 100% Be@rbricks (and trust me, I know my 100% Be@rbricks)

never noticed a difference. when was the shift to hard plastic???
only soft one i have is colorful eric so, thought it was special for this one only.

quality of the 1000 % is ok but not perfect imho,
always hoping they wont give in one day as vinyl head is heavy.
the wooden kaws ones seem pretty perfect to me.

The change was pretty quick. I think they did maybe half a dozen in vinyl before the move to plastic. May even be less. I think they realized the issue from the start.

I realized I never took photos of the vinyl be@rbrick I have, but This site did a good job of explaining it. I have both the Orange and Green Trick or Treat bears, and the orange is soft vinyl from 2001, and stands terribly! haha! The green is from 2007 and stands great. Its the design people are most used to seeing.
