Rich wrote: What are your thoughts on "Mad Marc" ? Ummmm sadly yes I've had quite a few days like that! Actually scratch that, I'd probably wager I've spent a full 10 years of my life (if added up altogether- i'm 46 now) in that state AT THE VERY LEAST (low estimate). Am I happy about that? Nope. I'm pretty much 'when keeping it real goes wrong' at least once a week. 'Marc's Niece' was funny because how Maron feels about the Shad Shack is how I feel about millenials in general.

 Re: Maron
This season has been the best yet, so funny and on point.
And yeah, Mad Marc is the story of my life also. The intro nailed it.

 Re: Maron
Gotta catch up on the newer episodes. I provided toys for the background 2nd season but I don't think they made it on camera. Marc is a fan of toys and they were going to let me put in my own stuff for the 3rd season but they changed set directors.
The Podcast is always a good listen even when Obama is boring to listen to.

uh oh wrote: Marc is a fan of toys Hmm, thats weird. I've never heard him mention toys and i've been listening to his stuff for a long time. He never really mentioned toys when he talked to COOP on WTF either . . . . Saying that though, i did notice a Marc Maron doll on a shelf in that picture of the President and him in his garage. Maybe he's insecure about admitting to liking toys in public!

Could be a lie. I was told by the production company. They did seek out toys but he may have not even known about it. Hollywood! The Moog wrote: uh oh wrote: Marc is a fan of toys Hmm, thats weird. Re: Maron
I really enjoyed this year's two-part opener. What could have been ham-handed and preachy was actually pretty hilarious and effective.
Much credit is surely due to the director of the proceedings, Mrs. Lynn Shelton. She is a weaver of television and cinematic gold.

I must say though, being a fan of Marc for a long time, i've heard his stories about drug addiction in multiple formats over the years and now they feel like they are being re-hashed yet again. Obviously the guy he's playing on the show is a 'character' but its all reminiscent of his real life . . . I thought the 'living in a storage locker' theme was a great idea, and i'm enjoying the chemistry between Marc and the other people in the rehab centre. Funny stuff. Oh, and they fell into a Hollywood cliché. The rule is, if you are a man and have any kind of mental breakdown you must grow a big scraggly beard as a visual indicator. Apparently only men with long beards can be drop-outs . . . .

 Re: Maron
I just listened to the secret skin podcast where open mike eagle interviews marc. Its a good interview, lots of talk about behind the scenes on 'Maron'.
That show is on a tight schedule. Tight as a Gnat's chuff . . . .
