 Who's gonna win?
Over here we get all sorts of updates, commentary and speculation about US Presidential race.
Based on our previous "political" discussions, I know that there are plenty of people here with opinions and valid thoughts, I'm curious what you all think about what the out come might be, or who you like/dislike.
on the news today, good old John "The Man" Snow aired a report which said that up to 10% of Americans think that Obama went to an extremist Muslim school and that they think he has ulterior motives.
A lot is made of the mudslinging between him and Hillary and how she doesn't always seem to come out looking the better for it. Rumours tha she has been chastised for splitting the party etc etc.
Not much is said about McCain seems to be a blood thirsty, republican tear away, without much interest in religion.
I am over simplifying, I'm interested in what others think.
(I'm not adding an option for a 3rd party cuz I think we all know that isn't a reality)

He's covered in my 3rd party clause.
But he'd have my vote.

Do you guys ever get the build up to our elections?
Theres been so much coverage of the prelims over here, it seems to get more coverage than when our elections are running.

Unfortunately, it'll probably be Liverpool. Maybe ManYoo.
Oh...I thought the thread title meant Champions League.

Also...
The lamest rhetoric I've heard in this campaign is Hillary comparing herself to Rocky. Did she watch the movie? He gets beaten in the end (and by a black man, I may add).
I also loved her speech a couple of weeks ago decrying the fact that we're losing our technological advantages to the Chinese. Well, you can thank your husband for contributing to that one.
All of these candidates are soulless robots deserving of nothing but our contempt.
Fight the powah. ;p

There are many interesting things about this election. If Hillary wins she would be the first woman president who happens to have been married to an expresident. You have McCain who is a republican but is actually disliked by a lot of Republicans. And then Obama who is a little green with politics.
I know some republicans in CA who are actually voting for Obama because they think the can beat McCain and then there was a news story the other day about Republicans who were throwing away there votes and voting for Hillary because they feel that if Hillary gets the nomination, she'll lose to McCain.

McCain is now so old that even the most conservative Republicans are a little nervous...of course, they will probably nominate Jeb Bush for VP, just in case...
Hillary should quit pointing fingers at Obama and worry about her own agenda...I don't want to hear why he wouldn't make a good president, I want to hear why she would!
I've got a feeling (and hope) that Obama will pull this one off...it seems like he has the potential to get younger people out to vote, and there are a bunch of younger voters running around...
I'd like to see this election break the streak of apathy that runs so deep in our culture...and, although anything may be better than what we have, but more of the same ol' shit due to lack of interest would be tragic.
Whoever wins needs to be prepared to ride the dustclouds of environmental change and the wade through the black hole that is our economy...I don't suppose any president ever knows fully what they are getting themselves into, but the "winner" is going to have to be a little more on top of things than what we have now.

Who do you think will win out of Chelsea v Liverpool, and United v Barca?

i agree.
and i think Venturas a little too late.
Hillary rubs me the wrong way (dont ask how i got so close) plus she just Bulllshits nonstop when i hear her speak its like a peanuts cartoon adult.
McCain creeps me out. especially his smile...
and i think its weird people think Obama has ulterior motives, almost seems racist to me. kinda hope he wins. it'd sure piss off alot of stupid people.

What's interesting is that we're still talking about 3 people. I wish one of the democrats would concede so they could focus on election.
McCain can just sit back and take a back seat while these 2 get bitter.

And Hiddy's "foreign policy" is troubling. So my vote is for Obama.

Liverpool has had really good form, and Chelsea just don't seem to be clicking. Barca hasn't looked all that great, especially with Henry and Ronaldihno unfit, and ManYoo has a really good chance at Champions and EPL this season. My Gunners are out of both...
As for Pres...Obama seems like the lesser of evils.
