The screen of Luke leaked online, it's pretty awesome. I'm not sure if it's the whole scene or what but it's still really awesome.

my point is, I have fond memories of ROTJ and seeing it in the theater. having lucas add something from one of those modern travesties and thus ruining the original movie upset a lot of people.

I know you're kinda joking - but there's a huge difference between Ewoks and Jar Jar. Too tired and uninterested to go into it though.

Okay.I agree. The Gungans are amphibians instead of mammals (which makes them harder to warm up to like good ol' Chewbacca), and instead of recycled Jawa dialogue, they speak that weird pidgin (which makes them annoying). Also, their technology is pretty advanced when compared with the Ewoks. If Lucas was trying to do the old "Viet Cong versus Americans" thing all over again in Episode 1, he missed the mark.

The Ewoks were originally supposed to be Wookiees, hence the anagram. Lucas couldn't find enough tall actors but there were plenty of little people for hire, so the script got changed.

When I was a kid, the theme with working alongside the Ewoks to overthrow the Empire reminded me too much of the Yuzzum from Splinter of the Mind's Eye, but I was probably in the minority.

I heard that there will be an extra disc containing the Holiday Special.
Also Chewies kids, Itchy and Lumpy, will be in another 'lost' scene partying with the ewoks...
