Re: What do you listen to????????
I was slightly disappointed by the first Eno & Hyde project "Someday World" ... somehow the songs seemed to just sit there making fancy noise, but never really taking off. But the duo's second project together, "High Life," recorded just a few months later, is a hundred times better by all accounts. A bit of the old "Bush of Ghosts" and "Remain in Light" polyrhythmic instrumental complexity back in play. Recommended if you like your Art Rock with a bit of African Funk in the mix.

Caustic Window has been on repeat lately.
Whirr's new single has been on repeat daily. I remember hearing them play this when they were in town and they kind of sucked, but recorded its really good.

Just got these in the mail today. Working on finishing up the Parliament catalog. Only a couple of more to go before I have all their studio albums (already have all the Funkadelic albums). I have to get them all before I see George Clinton in August!!!

If you haven't already you might also want to check out "Never Buy Texas from a Cowboy" by the Brides of Funkenstein. Nice to see the best thing the Residents ever did here ... see also Renaldo and the Loaf ... who aren't actually The Residents by another name, honest!

I'll definitely check those out Dean. I've heard other good things about the Brides of Funkenstein. I'll have to look up Renaldo and the Loaf, I've never heard of it. Apparently the Resident's insanity is labyrinthine because I thought I knew of everything they've done.

Forgot how much I love this album. I like it a bit more than the first and definitely the second. I feel a krautrock kick coming on! Viva by La Düsseldorf and Einsjäger und Siebenjäger by Popol Vuh are in the mail.
No...that's not all I got. Eat a three inch dick footlong you prick.

The overall sound of this is out of control! It's a bit of a challenge for me with the lyrical content though.. Still the best thing Madlib has done in years next to Shades of Blue for me.
Thanks for switching me on to it! I'm pretty jaded when it comes to Hiphop these days.
^ Jared, you ought to check out the Run the Jewels (Killer Mike / El P) album from last year. The followup, RTJ2, was just announced and I have high hopes for it.
I don't know what it is but I can't get into Piñata. The production is on point, I just don't think I like Freddie Gibbs that much. A few more listens might change that though.
The first single from RDJ's forthcoming album is promising though I wasn't expecting there to be so many 'vocals'...

^Syro has lived up to the anticipation for me. "CIRCLONT14 (Shrymoming Mix)" being my favorite off the album.

I'm listening to syro right now. I was not disappointed either. Slightly easy listening for rdj but that is not a bad thing. I'm glad he's back. Hope the six albums he's teasing currently isn't bs.
