one thing i know and know fer sure is that not many would have come out alive had they led the life i've led. maybe i'm quick to bristle at some things (i've been working on it) but i try to never just be rude for rudeness sake, something a few of you here have refined into an art unto itself.

i wish you could get to know me, the real me. you might have found that you really liked me. but i know that can't be, que sara.

so you purposely, and with malice, subverted the system Super7 had put in place to assure its best customers would have the best chance to get products their products.

Way to go!

That is only because YOU had already purposefully excluded them. you just don't get it. those people on the end of the line have every bit as much a right to buy a toy as you do, only most of them aren't lugging their girlfriend along making sure they get two of everythiing.

the one kid, he was so happy, you should have seen his face!! i think i did the most rfso thing of all, he didn't have a chance at 88, i reduced his odds down to 38.

Where from? I had some delivered from Andy's Chinese Cuisine last night after the Usugrow gig. Dang good for Chinese delivery. Chiang Mai Thai is also good for lazy nights. Love trolling Clement street on a Saturday morning for take-out Dim Sum.

Otherwise, yikes. Thread impasse?

I think you people are crazy with your KR hate. We can all live together in this big crazy world. Why just yesterday I was thinking how awesome it would be to have a thin, badly made hoodie with a light blue base and an all over pink print with Bemons or skullbrains. That would be so sweet.

Dare to dream.

you clearly don't get it. I don't understand how you could have almost 200 posts here, and still not understand why it is wrong to charge people here a fee for muleing stuff from comic con... or why you don't see why it is wrong to ask someone if they are on skullbrain, and only give them your spot on line if they said 'no'. And yes, I know you taught the blind to read for over nine years, so you don't have to remind us all why you are such a wonderful person 'outside' of skullbrain

"I think I did the most RFSO thing of all"

There are plenty of people on this board who came from KR (most of the people at the beginning did) and who weren't here from the beginning, nothing really has anything to do with that. If fucking noobs are afraid to post on this board that is there own problem, I'm sure lots have found that this board will treat you fairly as long as you don't start posting here and pulling some bullshit.

Now this is where it gets tricky because bullshit can mean many things to many people, the Manimal "Bullshit" in my eyes was all the "Bullshit" talk about "next PK" "I'll blow him out of the water" etc... I don't usually say anything negative if I don't like someone's custom, but that bothered me so I did. Manimal may think he is taking the high road by not letting such comments get to him, but in fact I think he ends up coming off even more egotistical to some people, and without any grounds to do so because he is obviously a Fresh Meat toy painter that needs more practice.

And then he lied about getting threatening PMs from me and that was total bullshit, fucking liar.

What is the issue here?

My comments were directed at the opinion that customizing a kaiju toy that was already painted was "bad," particularly if the toy was somewhat limited, no matter what.

However, the debate seems to have shifted to something like "if you are [insert name of customizers on the skullbrain "approved" list], you can customize anything you damn please. However, if we think your customizations are shite, then you suck and you shouldn't even post them here because it offends our sensibilities. And if we don't like what you have done, just bend over and let us have at you - and you damn well better like it. It is for your own good."

Which is it?

Clearly, all customizations that have graced these pages are NOT equal. Some are legitimately viewed as fine art on a different canvass (these are the ones I seek).

Some are really just not very good at all and despite how much enjoyment the customizer may get from painting and displaying the end result, they look amateurish or just don't do anything for the figure in question. But does that mean that you have to openly crap all over them? To do so just seems to bare your own insecurities.

Here is a summary of how I feel on these issues, whichever one it is:

I object to a position that would somehow castigate anybody who owns a figure, no matter how rare, etc., to paint over it if they want to.

Second, if you see a customization that you think just sucks, keep your criticism civil, helpful, constructive, etc., rather than hateful, spiteful, or mean, or just keep your mouth shut and move on.

OK… I know, I am “out of place” and should expect to be abused and “advised” and condescended to because I have a low post count. But that is another issue altogether for another thread.

how rfso is it that many of you will try and sell newbs on this board via PM toys at drastically inflated prices?

i understand the concept behind what you're trying to pitch here, but i think many don't practice what they preach. and even worse, they do it secretively.

i'm looking at the zag on the bay right now that has crested $300 and i'm looking at the one in my hands going to a board member here for $130 and thinking, boy, how un rfso, of me to get $30 for my trip down south, my standing in line, my even being there to get my bud a zag that he really wants, that he would other wise be paying $300 for, and all these people are trying to make me feel bad about that? bullshit

and how rfso was it that someone from here had to come over to KR and direct a bunch of hatred into a thread that had been nothing but positive and good for 50+pages?

yeesh! worse than the southern baptist church is what i see. hypocrits

MANY people on this board went to comic con and picked up items for people on this board. The difference between you and them, is that you charged $30 while they charged nothing but shipping

the reason i gave the number to someone non-rfso is becasue EVERYONE deserves a chance at these toys, NOT just a secular few. besides you guys had all the blue passes, you were already upfront and didn't have to worry about a thing. THAT's why i gave my numbers up to people who didn't have carte blanche. becasue they have every bit as much a right to own these toys as you do. just because they don't pass your tests doesn't mean they love their toys any less, no matter what kind of toy it is, whether it's a d.unny, or a rangeas, or even a hoodie.

there's great info here, some very nice people, a LOT of random needless hatred, i think you may be right. i'm outta here (for now). don't all start cheering at once, people might think you're having fun.

something I want to address in this thread right now is rudeness

why is everyone making out being rude to be such a horrible thing? sometimes it's fun and funny and great.

I'm from the East Coast. the stereotype is true. we are rude. all the time.
ask missy. people are rude to me all day long. people are rude to her all day long. everyone out here has a chip on their shoulder. and you can't get by with that SF hippie attitude of "killing them with kindness" out here. I actually can't stand when I go anywhere else (San Diego for instance) and everyone is all nice and says "hello" to you for no reason and cars let pedestrians cross the street and stuff. who has time for all that?

so you just start being rude back, and before you know it, you're angry and rude all the time. it's awesome. alright it's not really awesome to feel that way all the time, but some of the time it's awesome.

now is when everyone will jump all over me and say how ridiculous it is that I'm blaming rudeness on where I live, but whatever.

sometimes I think people around here confuse "rudeness" with "directness", just like people visiting the East Coast do.

we're not really being rude, we just don't have time to walk on eggshells and be nice for no reason either. no free pats on the back.

whatever. being rude and grumpy and complaining is awesome sometimes. I can't wait until I'm old and it's even worse. I'm gonna be such a prick.
