The staff at the PH Good Life are really cool; the yuppies who shop there, not so much. But hey, it's the only place I can find the vegan cafferata raviolis! I've been slowly trying to phase out the crap and excuses and veganize my eating habits. But man, my will is weak cuz rainbow's cheese section keeps calling my name.

Well I'm meatan,,meatonian,,meatasian? Anyway I am against the needless killing of plant life just so I can eat. Altough I am open to fake veggie products. Adopt-A-Cabbage.org will be hearing from me soon.

Wow....alot of folks on this board are vegetarian. It seems like a large percentage of you are, especially compared to the people I know IRL, of whom 1 is vegetarian. I wonder what the common thread is (it can't be toys). I need a chart or a graph.....

i'm not so sure what the connection is... i think deep down collecting these things you need to have a very punk rock/who gives a fuck what anyone else thinks personality... and for me i got into vegan/vegetarianism through punk and hardcore.

Ah, that didn't even occur to me. Being vegetarian can be an aspect of straight-edge, right? That would make sense.

Yes, get in touch if you decide to come to Japan. I can definitely show you some good places and give you some info on what is and what isn't vegetarian in Japan.

I like my food freshly killed. I eat the beef raw at shabu shabu, steak just so its warm and my fish raw. Cooking sucks.
I hate birds, fish are like who cares, even veggie heads eat them, and cows are so stupid that if we weren't breeding them to eat they would probably be extinct.
I also got bitched out by some dumb chick who was saying how I was dumb for eating like that, and I go in her fridge and she has an assload of POM juice. I was like ummm you know they killed like a ton of monkeys and if you were educated at all about what you preach you would boycott it.
Cruelty of animals is bad. Eating stupid ones like chickens, cows, delicious pigs and yummy tuna like blue fin (as long as its fished without harming other animals) is totally fine with me.
Hell if I somehow found out people were delicious, I'd probably start eating the stupid ones too, well if it became legal. It would bring America way up to the top of the worlds IQ list too, kids would be studying their asses off.
on another note I totally agree
there is nothing more punk rock then going DUUUuuuuUUUude killing cows for food is wrong, lets go get some fresh organic veggies, then skipping off holding hands to the nearest Whole Foods.

You must have enjoyed Stephen King's short story, "Survivor Type."
On topic, I also find it interesting that a lot of members here seem to have chosen veganism. I actually do not know anyone that is vegan in person. Then again, I live in Hawaii and we likes our plate lunches...

Vegetarian in Japan = not too bad, Vegan = pain in the ass. Everything has fish juice in it, plan on eating natto and bananas!

I don't trip too hard on how people define their dietary habits. If someone wants to call themselves a vegetarian but occasionally have some seafood, fine ... they have vegetarian tendencies.
Steve Jobs calls himself a vegetarian but loves sushi. Oh well, the very rich can do what they want and get away with it, but that doesn't stop the troops from snickering.
