I liked it, not a fantastic album, but fun enough. Theyre coming to SoKo in about two weeks, I would go see them, but the price of the tkt here is probably the price combined of all the times I've seen them, hahaha.

What new album? Damn I'm really out of the loop!

EDIT: OK it's available on their site. Funny for years I thought that site was just a fan based site. Hmmmm well I'd like to hear clips first, as much as I love Kevin Shields...
EDIT 2: OK so you can listen to it right here:

Nice! Maybe I'll do a digital download in the next week or so...

Love at first listen ... it's an amazing album. I like how it's stylistically divided into three sections of three songs each.

I actually felt like crying when listening to the first song. Such a burst of nostalgia, yet I listen to the two first albums all the time!

I really enjoyed the new album. They kept their sound, yet are not merely repeating themselves. There's actually a song or two I thought would have fit perfectly on newer Blonde Redhead albums...

Post Re: My Bloody Valentine tour
Finally got around to downloading it tonight (chose the digital download and CD option), listening to it now. After the first 3 songs it really is like going back in time, and that's not meant as a dig either. That album you so waited for 20 years ago finally coming to life. Having been so busy with school I've not had time to read up on the logistics of the LP. Part of me wonders if it's new material or songs that would have come out back then but have finally been tweeked and finished? Regardless Shields will always be a hero of mine for crafting a beautiful original sound and never compromising his integrity...

EDIT: As Dean said earlier, it seems to be divided into three sections... starting on track 4 it sounds a lot like the stuff Shields did for Lost in Translation soundtrack, albeit with Belinda singing. Very Nice! Almost can't wait to hear what comes next.

When you play a new album that you like so often that it becomes an earworm, should you give it a rest for awhile or just keep indulging the pleasure until you burn out? :D

For the longest time, I imposed a once a day limit to myself. Otherwise, I grew bored with albums really quickly. I don't now if it's age, but I don't care anymore...

Nope I play it till my ears bleed. Today I had to visit a sewage waste treatment plant for my Env. Sci. 2 class. Standing by the Niagara River in the cold trying my best to concentrate on the speaker my head kept drifting to the MBV tune 'New You'. I could not even wait to get back to the car to listen to it over an over. In fact I raced back so no one could try to car pool back to the Riverkeeper Office with me and blast it. Besides most college age kids would be like "What is this sounds of a swan dying- old man?"

Reviving an older thread to see if anyone else caught one of their shows this month. Saw them last night. They still rock & Belinda is still cute. Surprised I can still hear between this show & the Melvins from a few days back.

I saw them live at the Way Out West festival in Sweden in 2009. It was very loud and pretty good, but I do prefer to listen to them on my stereo (or better yet, with headphones).

My Bloody Valentine played so loud at this year's Way Out West, that the organiser Luger risks huge fines.

According to Luger's Ola Broquist, Luger asked the band to turn down the volume during their performance. But My Bloody Valentine gave the arrangers two options; keep playing at the same level or they would walk off the stage. 20,000 people were watching the concert and the organisers knew a walk off would be disastrous. The band finished their set.

hah hah.
Thanks for that report.

I love it when they do that. It's like taking a shower in sound.

Although, sometimes I think the Ramones at the Hollywood Palladium had them beat in my life time at least.

My ears rang for 7 days.

I am extremely jealous of those who are going to be seeing them this weekend at FYF!

For a brief moment in time, I felt like I was back in 1991 at the Warfield getting my ear drums blown away by a wall of sound...You Made Me Realise...(and Belinda is still as cute as can be). No pics, no videos, just a ticket stub and a tshirt (and ringing in my ears) to remember this occasion.
I want those Bearbricks!

i'm going to see them again tomorrow night at FYF. Last time I saw them was at Coachella, and I was right up front. The sheer wall of sound rumbled my shit loose, literally, and I had to leave to go to the bathroom. Here's hoping THAT doesn't happen again.

Post Re: My Bloody Valentine tour
Looks like I'm going to be missing them because they're coming nowhere near Buffalo/Toronto this time around. Hopefully in the fall maybe.

I just dug out some old ticket stubs and took a pic of the ones from 1992 alone. I really don't know how I still have hearing after seeing all these bands that year! I actually saw My Bloody Valentine 3 times that year because I lost my City Gardens in Trenton NJ 2/28/92 stub. I think that was just a blank ticket that said 'ticket' anyhow. Also saw Cocteau Twins that year (lost stub), and completely forgot I saw Spiritualized open for JAMC:
