Long shipping delays like this are inexcusable, no matter who you are (or who you were!). If you've got enough time to put together a "for sale" posting and collect people's money, then you're obligated to make some time to ship a package out. It's common courtesy, which usually is upheld really well on this board.

I agree with all the above though shipping delays are understandable.
Communication will keep things smooth and prevent any concerns.
Exagerated delays and no communication should earn a seller some type of tar and feather outfit or
branding.. maybe a fake tattoo that fades with time or good transactions.
This situation makes me think the seller might be selling merch he doesn't have in hand.
Like pre selling toys he thinks he can get a hold of. If the prices are right that's cool but he should
let the buyer know of possible delays.

i'm sure Glenn has the toys. it's just laziness on his part. I don't think he's out to scam anyone.

not defending his actions, just stating what I think is going on.

Maybe he needs a secretary?
Someone could offer him the service.
But if people are giving up on getting purchases and money because one has a good toy world aura that makes him an abuser.
Maybe that's why we have that option to mark skullbrainer's as enemies or allies.
He's just playing the villain.
Next time check his rub sign before engaging in a transaction.

I'm having the same problem . . .

Does anyone know 'pizzatrash' (Tyler) ?

I paid him for a figure on Jan 25th and it never turned up. I've since PM'd him several times and then finally asked for a refund. Nothing. The dude has vanished

I did get one message which contained this excuse:
"I'm so sorry, I have been incredibly ill lately, and I damaged my hand quite badly"

I thought for a while he was maybe in hospital but now i'm thinking its BS. He has took my money and vamoosed . . . . I'm just glad it was'nt a particularly expensive toy. I paid using the 'gift' option and now I feel like a sucker for doing that. It has'nt put me off browsing the sales thread but it has made me a lot more wary of newbie sellers.

Don't know what's up with him. But he turned over every toy he bought immediately. Raised some red flags with me. Good luck to you and to the guys dealing with pogue.

I'm pretty sure pizzatrash isn't out to get someone- I'm usually in constant contact with him due to sales and extremely rad trades with him. I was actually just was just wondering what happened to him yesterday. I'll see if I can get ahold of him. But I've never had problems selling to him, buying from him, or trading with him

I have had good dealings with Pizza as well, hopefully he is okay. I can't be upset with people for delayed shipping as I have found myself in the same situation. I try and point out though when it may take me a few to ship. For my part, when I last talked to Glenn I told him no rush. I didn't think that would translate to this long of a wait though. I would just like to know what's going on.

Regarding 'pizzatrash' or any other situations like this. Yes to all the above, but, if someone can take the time to PM an excuse, even a good one, they could have used that same exact time to do the right thing and issue a refund!

pizzatrash / Tyler: my friends & I have always had it easy from him, and I'd never seen anyone complain about him as a seller. Why he chooses to own all his toys short-term, I do not understand - but he is certainly not the only board member who does this  As long as he's not raising the prices when he resells them weeks/months later, I guess I don't have qualms with it. However, like everyone, he should ship the toys to those who've paid in a timely fashion, or refund their money. End of story.

He could very well be busy breaking in some new jeans that he bought with your toy moneys :|

Right, one cannot get around the truth, regarding 'pizzatrash' or any other situations like this. If someone can choose to take the time to PM an excuse, even a good one, they could have used that same exact time to do the right thing and issue a simple refund!

Edit: I have added the below notes,

If someone is too 'lazy' to mail what you paid for its abuse, they are scamming you whether they are fully conscious of it or not.

Use 'gift' payments on Paypal and you have no recourse. Pay as 'goods' then the transaction would be covered in case of loss and 'other' situations like this...period!

I remember that last big one which was deleted. I recall S7 was able to intervene/spoke/sort Glenn out and get the ball rolling since he was at that time an employee. Now that he is a boardie only, that pressure may no longer be uh "pressured" and those owed might be up shit creek without a paddle. I don't mean to discourage you all but there's history here and third time is no charm. :(

Just hope that he sees or hears about this thread and rectifies the situation.

Considering when I joined it would never have occurred to me to search for Pogue being a problem seller. I suppose even if the person in question worked for S7 it would still be wise to search for threads and hope they didn't all get deleted. So no one knows Glenn on a personal level? It would be nice if someone with his phone number could hit him up and see what is going on. I still give him the benefit of doubt but some correspondence would be nice.

Post Re: Recent Pogue Sale..
When I worked for an obnoxious megacorporation (for 9 years) I worked from 7am-7pm, Monday-Saturday for two, three months out of the year. The nearest post office was 20 minutes away and I had a 30 min lunch.

When I'd sell something... it was incredibly difficult to get to the post office to ship it. I'd always warn folks that it may take two or three days (relying on the kindness of a roommate or girlfriend) and just putting that out there- "hey, this may take a few days" worked 100% of the time. No one got pissy, no one felt ripped off.

It's about respect with me, not expediency.

Post Re: Recent Pogue Sale..
Glenn is a notoriously lazy shipper. And has been for years and years. Not at all a bad guy; just lazy.

Back in 2008, I bought something for him while we were both in Tokyo- in exchange for a toy he was to send me once he returned home- and I remember making him swear to me over and over and over again on the train ride back to the hotel that he would ship the toy the second he returned to SF. And I think I left several emails/pm's/voicemails to reinforce my point. Long story short, he sent it when he said he would. And I remember being shocked by it. But my point is, I knew he was infamous for lazy shipping even back then.

Some of the best members here on skullbrain, many of which are perfectly wonderful people to shoot the shit and hang out with, are self-admitted lazy-ass shippers. Is it right? NO! It's just reality. Your best bet is to stick to buying/trading with folks you know will come through for you. If you're unsure about somebody, ask some of the longtimers and I'm sure they will give you an opinion on the subject.

People who know me, know that I ship same or next day every time, no excuses, period. Others, not so much.

I get the lazy shipping thing, I have things that come up that delay shipping sometimes as well.

Its the total disregard for communication, period. Its hard to find a excuse in the digital age, near impossible unless he became a monk.

Also lets all keep in mind, lazy shipping has nothing to do with refunding someones money or responding to a email. Unless he legitimately doesn't check his email haha.

With the strong opinions above, i'm really surprised at how OK everyone on SB is with asking for and using the gift option.

I long for the day, where listed toy prices on SB include paypal fees and none of this gifting bullshit takes place.

I'm also surprised there's no good feedback system in place. As a newcomer, it's pretty hard for me to guess whose on the up and up unless someone gets called out in a thread, which doesn't seem to happen that often.

And c'mon am i really gonna pm other boardies about someone's credentials every time I want to buy something from someone?

I'm with Daimyo on this.
Working together to solve these types of problems will benefit everyone.
There would be a lot less panicking if someone could contact the missing person.
Also reassurance from members who know dude is good but statements like
i'm sure he's just enjoying your money and it's not his fault he's lazy are unnecessary.
If someone is stressed show some support. You can protect your friend but maybe
don't make the victims feel stupid. It's been almost a year for some of these transactions..
If they need to vent let em.

I would think the buyer would let you just add some cash and cover the Paypal fees. It would be a little odd if they wouldn't. I'm fine gifting a payment to many board members. I've always had really experience buying, trading, and selling. So far everyone has been really fast with shipping and communication is good. Sorry to hear you guys are having a problem.
