What, was he not gonna buy the lot cause he'd end up with a double?? unless it was wayy overpriced, i dunno much about maxxtoy prices. I was very confused by all that.

Yes, I am serious because I don't know. The first time I found this forum I was searching for "black vinyl" looking for pics of records.

Get one of those balzac figures you have, mix a little bit of mustard with vinegar and rub it in the figure, if it turns a little bit blueish, it's vinyl

I have a MIB Tripus purchased last year. He has no feet stamped, obviously. On the blister card (listing Eyezon, Capt Maxx, Tripus, Boy Karma etc) and header is marked "Made in China". I took a pic, but it's hard to link pics from my phone...

I'm guessing that would be the reason for the assault. But as previously stated, I've definitely seen Max Toy figures pop up around here without all the bells and whistles.

Alien Argus, on the other hand (Max Toy x TAG), is definitely made in Japan...

Junior members need to do their research.

Maxx (old version), Xam, Eyezon (old version), Tripus and Kikaida are all made in China. Not sure about Boy Karma or the Ontiveros Booska, but I think those are also made in China.

Drazoran/Dragigus/Drazorus, Argus, Dualos and Zanga are all made in Japan, along with the new sculpts of Maxx and Eyezon. Most of Mark's stuff after 2007 was made in Japan, although there are some that are Japan-only releases of the China vinyls (e.g., the Rumble Monsters Eyezons and the Tokyo 1-week exclusive Tripus) and some that I am not entirely sure about (e.g., the Maxxs that were included with the 2007 Battle Packs).

I don't think there's any question on whether or not Max Toy stuff 'fits' on this board.

I don't know what the deal was with that Dualos sale. Dualos was sculpted by Nakayoshi and produced in Japan. Sometimes, I get the feeling that people here try to enforce 'rules' that they don't understand.

I do have a question, though. The above poster said "vinyls." This is a big issue in records. Vinyl is the material, not the object, but people call records "vinyls" now. Even my delivery person asks "is this a vinyl?"

So the question is, in toys, is the word vinyl used synonymously with toys? Is it acceptable to say "vinyls" and is they any debate amongst this usage?

As far as the "vinyls" question goes, I think most people around here don't really refer to toys as "vinyls." Vinyl is more often used to describe the material.

A lot of non Japanese stuff gets a free pass here like Kaws, 3A, old american toys, etc. There are rules that you just need to learn by learning from your mistakes or ours. This is the hazing period which basically weeds out the weak.

So I have two more questions. A friend of mine married toy designer Tomohide Enoki, and he's kind of like a brother-in-law to me.

1. Is he popular around here?

2. I think most of his toys are more anime character-based and articulated. Does his work fall under "not suitable for skullbrain" ?

Tomohide Enoki sculptor for Kaiyodo? If so. He's known. Just not really in this forum because his works are anime stuff.

When I went to his wedding, he decorated with custom toys he made all over the place. I had no knowledge of this scene, so I couldn't appreciate it at the time as I could now.
