Hi all! I've lurked sb for awhile as I became more and more interested in the kaiju/sofubi world, mostly through loving Itokin Park and then slowly getting into more and more creepy and strange and wonderful toys. Finally decided to take the plunge and start taking part in the board.

I've been starting to mess around with casting resin like many others, have a long ways to go before I'd wanna post something but like seeing what others are doing here.

Just joined and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Drew and I am from San jose, Ca. I love to collect all things godzilla and company, specifically the bullmark/marusan era styles. I am also into all the new stuff out there, PK and MVH especially (still working on growing that collection) hoping to work that toy karma for future releases I just love to grow the collection and respect the art of toys and this awesome community.

I am also a workig artist that decided not to just collect but also make my own toys, I believe a few of us are already friends on instagram, I know I follow a lot you well if you are interested check out my IG "@dtoes" (i follow back ) I love to sculpt and paint toys, I have a new "kaiju" coming soon that I am almost finished with and will cast in resin. Will def start a thread as soon as it ls in its final stages!

I'm new to the board, but have been a long time lurker. Always found SB to be a good mix of information, banter and incredible toy collections. I've met some great folks form this board long before I decided to sign on.
I live in San Diego,CA and have been a long time toy collector...mainly Robotech since the late 80s but about 3yrs ago, I was introduced to this world and have enjoyed building a collection of various toy artists such as:Pushead,HxS,PK,KillerJ,Blobpus,Monsterworship,Gargamel...all have a place in my heart and on my shelves.

I look forward to chiming in from time to time on various threads around the board.

@dtoes - Take time to get to know people on the board and contribute to the community a bit before you show your stuff off. People around these parts are quick to jump on anyone who seems like they're only here to show off their wares, so spending some time conversing about toys and getting to know people will go a long way to help you not get chased off with torches and pitchforks!

dtoes, be sure to post in the BASK (Bay Area Skullbrainers) section. It's be so quiet there--I think the BASKers are hibernating. Have you had a chance to visit the Super 7 store on Haight St. in SF? Parking can be hell, but it's fun to see the headquarters!

Did you see the vintage figures in the tall glass cases? Those are my favorites! We'll have to see if we can revive the old BASK toy meets. In the early days, when the store was in Japan Town, we would all show up for a toy trade event, fun photos, and then out for a sushi lunch. Hope to see you in the near future! Lots of Hugs

Hey guys, I'm Dan. I'm 25, I study film and tv and I live in Brisbane. I'm a big fan of old school tokusatsu and discovered the world of sofubi after researching old Ultraman toys.

I'm still a newbie to collecting, this place was recommended to me by my man Glenn aka Bad Teeth Comics after I saw his awesome collection on Instagram and bombarded him with a million questions.

I am in the process of trying to teach myself how to mould and cast to build props at the moment and I have dreams of making a figure or two of my own characters some day.

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking for a while now, and finally decided to create an account and start a collection. I blame COOP -- I found his Flickr photostream looking for gratuitous nudity, and couldn't figure out what the deal was with all of the ugly toys he had posted.

I'm interested in collecting Matango, and other weird bat/bug/fungus/nekkid-women toys. I'm also interested in learning how to sculpt, cast, and paint bat/bug/fungus/nekkid-women toys. Other obsessions of mine include antique cameras, bats, bugs, fungi, native California wildflowers, and, of course, nekkid-women.

I'm in Sacramento, which means that hopefully I'll see some of y'all at a Bayaria event sometime.
