yeah, all of my friends are weird also.

but some of them don't understand why I spend as much money as I do on toys, but I look at their beer guts and wonder the same :)

Living in Buffalo I say the same things to my hard drinking fast food loving friends. They think I'm crazy for spending so much on toys but I always say "At least I have something to show for the fruits of my labor and all you have is that gut..." Usually stops them dead in their tracks. For the most part I have alot of artists over and they always zoom in on their favorite figure. My one friend Nate was over today telling me he'd pay me to find him that Shikarouna Koubo Garumega for him. I should start a Kaiju Finding business...

it's worth a watch if you've been in art school particularly.

Haha, classic

The main question I get about the Pushead and Balzac stuff is:
"Where are these from, a cartoon or a video game or something?"

I don't have that much stuff & most of my friends have their own weird stuff, so no big reactions. People are mildly interested. One friend at work is totally fascinated.

Personally I'd rather have people play with them than not touch them.

Yeah, I have had the 40 Year Old Virgin thing a couple of times, even tho i'm only 30....

Anyhoo, I'm lucky enough to have equally dorky friends. For the most part I get 'Holy sh*t, look at all this!' before they revert to being a 10 year old and making monster noises and recounting the movies. My dad has never, and I mean never understood my thing with collecting toys. I always get the 'joking' question 'haven't you bleedin' grown up yet?' and then counterattack with 'well, dad, these are my toys, and your fishing gear is yours, right? so piss off!'. All in good humor, of course. My mom is the complete polar opposite. She sends me links to cool Marmit stuff on Ebay and occasionally suprises me with some goodies she picks up for me on the sly. She just bought me a SUNN tour shirt and a Bear Model Gigan. Not bad for a 63 year old eh?

Some of my collegues at work are quizzical, but they are so used to it now they simply ask 'spending all your paycheck again?' :)

Oh, here is a direct quote from one of my friends (He collects, but nothing too crazy. More like Simpsons toys and stuff)

"that's a lotta lil guys you've got there. I'm sure other collector's of them would have a semi by looking at your collection"
