 Re: Tron Legacy
I got into Tron Night last month and saw 25+ mins of the movie. All I have say is what I saw was jaw dropping... its a must to see in Imax and 3D. Even if the story ends up being so-so the visuals will blow your mind. Everyone in the theater was clapping at the end of the preview and I yelled out "Rewind!!"

 Re: Tron Legacy
The Tron toys are pretty cool. The body suits partially light up and then a weird face lights up in the helmet. They talk too. The face is like a piece of paper or hologram they project a light at to make the movie effect. Pretty cool, I bought Star Wars instead. They don't do anything.

Sounds like a nice guy, but him and Jonah Hill have pushed the ham-sandwich-schlub schitck to the limit. Enough already.

 Re: Tron Legacy
A buddy of mine saw it last night; she said it's style over substance. That's just fine for me. Oh, and someone texted me today asking to borrow my copy of the dvd which is out of print; apparently it's going for $95+ on dvd on amazon. Talk about opportunism.

 Re: Tron Legacy
Have'nt seeen the movie and dont know if I will but I got the soundtrack earlier this week and it's pretty good. Not as great and iconic as the Wendy Carlos one but I was'nt expecting as much classical work from Daft Punk and it came out great.

 Re: Tron Legacy
Soundtrack and visuals were amazing. The scenario was non-existent and the CG Flynn was annoying though.

 Re: Tron Legacy
Saw it in Ultra AVX and I have to say it was pretty impressive as well. The sound was amazing!
(Wanna bet there's going to be a sequel and the bad guy is going to be Zeus?)

 Re: Tron Legacy
The movie looked awesome, music and sound effects were fantastic, but the script was deficient, and I'll restrict my criticism to the main plot because it makes no sense: Clu has developed his own version of "the perfect society" and wants to bring it to the real world.
Well, what exactly is Clu's version of "perfection" vs. Flynn's? We saw that Clu killed the Isos, but why? What made them "imperfect" by his standards? What exactly did Flynn have in mind? They never show us these things, never explain them past a couple of vague lines of dialogue.
And what was Clu going to do once he got to the outside world? All of the rules are different: no light cycles, laser frisbees, etc. Rachael-- I mean, Quorra was just turned into a regular person. Why does he have to give his soldiers a rousing speech if they're already brainwashed?
And why was the movie named Tron when he has little more than a cameo appearance, and why was he renamed Rinzler, and if those data discs are so important why would you throw them at other people? (Okay, now I'm straying from the original plot so I'll stop.)
Thumbs down.

 Re: Tron Legacy
Saw it last night, after re-watching the original yet again (love the original!). First 3D movie I've seen, and I enjoyed that more than I thought I would. As for the movie - I liked it. I felt they did a pretty good job of keeping the story-line from the original intact with the Users/Makers/religious mythos. In fact, it felt a little like a retelling or re-imagining of the first movie. I didn't like Clu's face - it looked pretty bad. But otherwise it lived up to my limited expectations, both visually and as a story. After seeing the Mickey Head in the original movie for the first time this weekend (never knew about it!), I kept watching for a Mickey Head to appear in the new movie but didn't see one. Here it is in the original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTbjRvKTNm8
