 Re: The lottery system
Thanks Rich for your expertise on how vinyl factories run.
As for getting some toys I love, I decided to accept that this will never happen.

 Re: The lottery system
In all seriousness, you have to basically be zen about this whole situation. That being said, i still find myself getting worked up over my hobby. My toy collecting hobby. Thats ridiculous. I have to remind myself "they're toys, relax"
Take for example my situation- are there things I've missed? Yes. Things i wasn't offered? Sure. Do I see other people with things I'd love and cherish? Absolutely. But in the end who am I? I'm nobody special. And sure theres people beating the system, cheating, or whatever. Its a shame, but That's life. Would it be nice to be wealthy with money to spend on everything I want no matter the cost? I'd love to be I that situation. But I'm not. I'm a regular middle class guy who works a regular middle class labor job. So its no use getting worked up.
On the other hand, I have to realize that I've been super fortunate at times in my years being part of this community. i have some stuff thats really special, and stuff that others would love to have. And to that I will be grateful for until the end. So I can't complain. And there's more important things in my life that I need to worry about on a daily basis, so wether or not I get the newest toy or whatever shouldn't be making my blood boil or get me worked up. Ill just enter the next lotto that comes around if I have the money and hope I win. There will always be more toys.

hellopike wrote: There will always be more toys. It pretty much boils down to this. I understand people who have very, very specific wants. But if you open up a bit, missing stuff doesn't matter so much anymore. I (and most people here) have finite funds and space. If I can't spend money on one item, I'll spend them on another. If I run out of space, I'll sell something else. And that something else might be an item someone else missed on. The beautiful circle of life. And you know what? By definition, lotteries are for highly sought-after, aka hyped toys. That hype will die away soon enough. If you did indeed genuinely like the toys, chances are you'll then be able to pick them up at a bargain price. Zen indeed. (edited for terrible spelling)

 Re: The lottery system
You are both right, I too am really happy with the toys I already have. I can't complain. The capitalist world gets on my nerve and some part of this hobby is really inhuman. But the rest is a marvel . ZEN.
