You guys ever heard the rumors that 100s of "high ups" from the trade center were off site that day - like someone planned to make sure none of them got hurt if something was to happen.

All that tells me is that the US government dropped the ball. The signs were all there, but noone was looking at them. When you have intel that says there will be an alQaeda plot involving planes but you don't believe it/bother to follow up, when the event actually happens, it doesn't take long to tie them together.
Also, you Brits didn't seem to put up much of an argument with Blair. Hell, you even voted him BACK in after he'd sent troops to Iraq. Americans aren't the only gullible ones...

Oh yeah dont get me wrong- the British are a state of cronic apathy, no one votes anymore and no one cares.
Even if it did come out the 911 was done by whoever I doubt the english people would really care. Forget whatever sterotype you have of Brits- the majority of us are some dumbbed down, thick-as-shit motherfuckers.

It's not hard for me to accept that: - Due to our government's laziness and incompetence, 19 Al-Qaeda hijackers crashed jumbo jets into the WTC and Pentagon, killing 3,000 people and leading to a war in Afghanistan. - Due to our president and his staffers' desire to start a war there, politicians' laziness and incompetence and a fearful attitude on the part of the media led to a war in Iraq. I also see these things as completely separate events, but your mileage may vary. I can't ignore stuff like this, though: SAMBA wrote: Blame your media for questioning the iraq war and not 911- 911 is as shoddy job as the iraq war intelligence- I mean they really expect people to believe that the Laws of physics and gravity were suspended that day! Really? Can you give us an idea of where your superior knowledge of physics and gravity comes from? Did you really figure out something was wrong on 9/12/01, or do you believe it because someone told you so? How do you know _you're_ not being lied to? Because if there really was a conspiracy, they'd be sure to spread plenty of credible-looking disinformation out there to make people who publicly doubted the official story look silly. The govenment say that jet fuel didnt melt steel- but large ammounts of melted steel were found there, so either on that one day jet fuel could burn 4 times stronger than ever before or their were explosives there. The govenment report and the conspiracy nuts both agree that this molten, melted steel was there, they both argee the melting point of steel is 2000. Also on that one day the force of gravity would have to be x ammount stronger for it to pull the tops of the buildings down through the building underneath at the same speed as if you dropped a bowling ball of the top. Unless of course they were explosives taking out all of the suports so their was no resistance to the fall. The govenment reports and the conspiracy nuts both agree that the buildings fell down in 10 secs, they both agree this was close to free fall speed, the both agree in the existance of gravity. occam's razor: the simpliest explination is normally the correct one. Do you believe that for the first time in history jet fules burned 4 times hotter that day and that gravity was x ammount stronger or do you believe there were explosives in the buildings? Dont even get me started on WTC7. But yeah- I believed the official story at the time I was in shock. But look back on it now.....
Except the report doesn't say jet fuel weakened the steel (hollow steel tubing, actually). It says the jet fuel burned out after 10min. It was the "open" design that allowed the fuel to disperse quickly over a large area starting numerous fires (fueled by all the contents of the building) that burned for almost 2 hours combined with the actual impact, and deteriorating or even missing fireproofing on the aforementioned steel tubing that weakend the structure.

Occam's razor would also suggest that hi-jackers did it. That's by far more simple than any of the conspiracy theories.
Occam's razor is a bunch of hooey.

Its simple to suggest that the hijackers suspended these laws of gravity and physics?
or infact that they were not suspended ( because that is impossible, duh) and explosives caused the collapse.

they still make/made jet engines for use with apaches/other planes of war
yeah one doesn't make many that statement was misguided, but in reality they're all as shit as the other

Sorry...manufacturing jet engines does not equal "arms manufacturer" in my book.

i think the 'laws of physics' argument is a little soft. the situation with the world trade center was unprecedented as far as i know (can anyone direct me to another example of passenger jets being crashed into skyscrapers?), so its difficult to do more than scientifically speculate on how the building would behave due to the impact, fuel, fire, etc.
i think its kind of a leap to say that the official explanation defies physical laws. I am by no means a physicist, or have any expertise beyond an college engineering education, but i do know that sometimes events take place that are very very difficult to explain scientifically. who can really say with certainty that the buildings could only have fallen the way they did due to explosives? ive watched all the documentaries, read a bunch of conspiracy theories, etc, but just have a hard time with the reasoning. sure, there are a lot of things that dont quite add up, but 'not adding up' is not enough scientific evidence to conclude a broad, complicated conspiracy, involving multiple agencies, corporations, individuals, etc.
i have many many issues with our current administration, but unless some solid evidence emerges, i just cannot believe that our government orchestrated these attacks.

It also pretty much defies the laws of physics that the Pyramids were built.

I don't know about "high ups," but one persistent urban legend states that many Jews did not show up to work that day.
This idea was heavily discussed in NJ. Our poet laureate referenced it and after refusing to resign, the state eliminated the poet laureate position.

99.9% of the German Government had nothing to do with the burning of the Reichstag.

Yes, although this appears to be unsubstantiated rumor. On the other hand, at the time SF's Mayor, Willie Brown, said he got a call from a government agency on 9/10 telling that he should cancel any plans to travel by air on 9/11. I never knew what to make of that, and Brown refused to answer questions about it after a few days.

I haven't followed this whole post but I do remember that news conference when Brown said that. I thought it was so odd and he never did explain any of it.
I do agree though there they have been tons of unexplainable things that happen and don't add up but it doesn't mean something greater is at play.
Off topic but some mentioned pyramids...the yonaguni monument or underwater pyramids in japan any think they are man made or natural?

Well I think if it as a means to an end regarding critical thinking. Unfortunately some people are almost religious about it. It becomes "proof" rather than a tool.
If William of Occam had a beard, it wasn't for lack of a razor.

I respect that- A lot of the time when you have this discussion people blindly dismiss anything othger than the 'Official Story' without having even seen the alternative edivence and films ect.
The first time someone mentioned all this stuff to me I told them to shut up and that the were talking shit- then they told me just to go and look at the edivence.
After you see that stuff I think it is very hard to dismiss as just a 'Conspiracy theory.' But in general its stupid to have a discussion of any sort if you havnt researched both sides of ther argument.
Still you wrong.
