 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
Yeah, I think that has been the brilliance of this show. They have completely transformed Walt to a character you are sort of rooting for, but also starting to dislike. Disgust, more like it. He's whistling while you work scene, when Jesse comes down the stairs and realizes that Mr. White has definitely disconnected from it all. And the speech about the "selling out" what Walt gave really drives home Walts reasoning behind it all. And boy is he laying it thick on Jesse. I thought Jesse played it hilariously at that awkward dinner too. Man, so awkward. Its funny. I feel like Walt has two sides to him. Walter White and Heisenberg. And this season its all Heisenberg.

 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
This season he really is ALL Heisenberg, its seems like its taking him over completely. Which in a way worries me.

 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
Anybody else re-watching the other seasons to fill the void in your heart? I am, and I just finished S2: E12. Probably the most powerful piece of film I have ever seen is right at the end. When Jesse and his "Junkie Girlfriend" are laying in bed, and Walt lets her die. Anywho the reason I bring this up is because, I believe it to be the scene when Heisenberg starts to take over. I realize that I should be posting this a couple of years ago, but I just wanted to bring that back up. Hope you guys don't all start tearing up :/

 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
The show episode to episode just keeps getting better and better. It's a great feeling when you're watching something knowing it's ending and feeling like it's pacing itself perfectly toward that ending, like everything is fitting perfectly into place. We know where Walt ends up when he turns 52, a year from what we're seeing. What will be interesting (or nerve wracking having to wait a year) is seeing why he ended up there and what he's going back for - with Walt it could be going out in a blaze of glory or even something else entirely...
Also, I don't think we've seen the last of Todd. I know they could easily kill him off, but I have a gut instinct he's going to come to play in a major way somehow.

 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
I had a feeling this would be floating around already I rewatched the entire series over the past couple weeks, it was amazing to see how well thought out this show is. The marathon viewing gives you a great perspective on the 2 year timeframe in which this series has taken place.

(sorry for the topic jump!) I'm the same way. Cable is not worth it at all for the prices most providers gouge people for. I've watched it- seems like 100's of channels of nothing you'd ever watch anyhow, at least nothing I'd watch. Best bet is to find shows you are into and get them online via itunes or whatever, or wait for dvd. I love getting the AMC shows I watch- Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Killing etc on itunes. They download to my computer the next day after they air and I have them forever- no need for DVD. Also they usually come with a "Inside the Episode" 5 min feature. One thing though I download in high def so the files can get up to 2gb. I'm thinking of shifting them all to an external soon. The Walking Dead Season 2 DVD is out August 28th. The one thing I'm really curious about is the 'extra footage', specifically the opening episode of season 2. I hear it will contain the group leaving Atlanta via visiting the Vatos, finding it over run. Shane runs out of gas and gets briefly left behind (hence that footage from season 2 preview where they show him running with the shotgun as a large herd chases him). This was all not shown last year. Actually I'm more excited for Walking Dead this season than Breaking Bad.

A lot of people seem to lack the patience for it, but I think it's got the best tone of any show on TV. I absolutely loved both seasons. Totally agree that DL is the way to go. Strangely enough there's actually quite a bit of TV worth watching out there these days, but the sea of drek that surrounds it is maddening. I'm in a home with cable for the first time in forever right now and I can't hardly wait until it goes away at the end of the month. My standards are slipping.

I don't think anything can top Season 3 & 4 of Breaking Bad and I know Season 2 was kind of lame for Walking Dead but I'm not happy with this season of BB (and the fact that you have to wait till next summer for the other half) and have you seen the preview trailer for Season 3 of WD? I posted it in the thread over a month ago and was surprised no one said a word: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=31407&hilit=walking+dead&start=450It is the prison, and it is the governor....so fingers crossed.

I also get episodes via iTunes ... case you didn't know, you can now re-download any TV episode you'd paid for in the past, so if you want you can just delete the episodes after viewing, then if you want to see them again later, you can re-download. I do that because my HDD and external drives are so full of content.

 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
I don't know that it rates its own thread, but seeing as how it's BB's next door neighbor - is anyone else checking out Hell on Wheels?

 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
I do. Game of Thrones, The Killing, and Hell on Wheels are all shows I picked up (and I'm up to speed on) this past year. Well Hell on Wheels just started in Jan 2012. Shows ok, at first (and I think someone mentioned it here) it seemed like a poor man's Deadwood but it has some interesting subplots. I still don't get why the main character has to make things so difficult for himself 24-7.
