Re: The Walking Dead television series!!!!
Oh! And I completely agree with you and that comment about this being better suited for a mini series. One of my favorite parts of the book was that it was cut up in all those morsels of terror/info and you really had to read 95% of the book to get the picture. But that's why I don't want to spoil this movie for me Just like to think of it as an alternate of that story, I think I'll enjoy it. CGI, as good as it can be, I think it also can go the other way. It's the new cancer of the industry. Makes lazy writers/directors and ruins potentially good stories. I'm with you on that one too. But still hopeful with this. I'm a romantic fool. Lixx wrote: Aldo, see I didn't mind 28 Days Later because they didn't really seem like zombies hunting for food just murderous infected people. The focus was more on survival/breakdown of society also and not the showing the infected as often. What gets me going in these films is not seeing them as often. Knowing the threat is there so when you don't see them you keep thinking in every situation : "I wonder when they will show up?"
This movie seems the opposite. Just a complete blockbuster money grab with all the bad CGI that goes with that. The book was so broad, with survival stories from around the world, in different environments. It's like the people who made this just said- ok we'll take that Yonkers scenario and just duplicate it 20 times, add a ton of CGI, and there you go. I read a comment online that said this would have been better suited as a 10-12 part mini series on HBO or Showtime. I think they are right. You did know that. You sold a book to me this year, also sent me an image of a vintage cartoon crocodile that ended up as a tattoo. Also you said 'never met another Aldo in my life and it turns out there's another one on Sb'. And last but not least, there's plenty of people here calling me by my name all the time. You're right Axolotl! I remember now. I deal with so many people here and in real life and have a hundred things going on that I forget things pretty easily and didn't put your handle and real name together. I'm still super siked that you got that croc off my flash. But yeah, two Aldo's on the board, pretty weird.

Yeah no problem!! Us Aldos have to stick together. If you ever come to Mexico City you'd probably realise there's more Aldos than Juanes. Aldo wrote: You're right Axolotl! I remember now. That "show spoiler" is the new purple sarcasm font. Hope it goes away soon. When you click on a thread...it's implied that you will get information. If you don't want to know don't click.
Anyway..It just seemed like pure rage. Rick never got to say goodbye..so this episode those emotions came to the forefront.

I thought it meant that zombie had eaten her? He was really fat. At first I thought he would still try and recover the pieces.

I think the stabbing of the belly was what he felt he should have done with Lori from the beginning. Now this cheating whore left this burden of a child onto the whole group.

Well thank fuck Michonne and Andrea split. Andrea in the comic is on point. This Andrea needs a catharsis every season it seems to get her shit together. Here's some thoughts I think are upcoming (spoiler put in for those who never read the comic):

Bones and all?! C'mon. I thought that was pretty silly too. Seemed like they just wanted to show some extra unnecessary gore. Nicotero should have at least inserted a partially devoured Lori corpse instead of a bloodspot. Besides no way one walker could have devoured her bones an all in the time it took Rick to get there. Remember the first we see of the prison group is right after she had the baby and Carl put her down.

Bones and all?! C'mon. That's dumb. They could've made a stronger scene out of it then him just stabbing that zombie like a maniac. Too quick to kill off people all of a sudden. T-dogg never had a chance, his best character moment was Glenn saying he was a good guy. The comic is so much better.

Re: The Walking Dead television series!!!!
I hate the town. It's like a bad 70's tv sci-fi. Only a few hundred people. They all mill about with nothing to do and act like they havent seen each other in weeks. They all have a change of cloths every scene. They all look clean and fresh.
Rick has always seemed as much as a self involved, woe is me, leader as the town guy.
But I am still watching it.

Re: The Walking Dead television series!!!!
None of these things bother me enough to make me dislike the show. I just think it is fun pointing stuff out that doesn't quite fit. Speaking of the town- I just noticed, last night, and wondered why 85% (or more) of the women in Woodbury are attractive or at least somewhat so. I mean, are we really supposed to believe that the women that were lucky/strong/savvy enough to survive the zombie apocalypse are all "hollywood actress types"?

Re: The Walking Dead television series!!!!
I thought the stabbing was a mere outlet of pure rage, too, and considered that the big belly might have reminded Rick of a pregnant belly, setting him off in his wigged-out state. In the previous episode there was the barest hint that he might be moving towards reconciliation with Lori. The extremity of his grief further suggested that that's what he wanted, despite still contending with his resentment.
Kinda glad I haven't read the comic at this point. Plenty of surprises and no clue where things are headed. The Governor seriously gives me the creeps. He did even before I knew he was creepy. Something about his patronizing authoritarian manner seemed a bit too much right off the bat.
I'm wondering if this is the goriest show ever broadcast on TV? And people used to say The Sopranos was over the top!

Pretty much this right here. I had a feeling he wanted to cut the belly open to get her remnants out but then changed his mind and lost his head again. My brother thought he wanted to recover their wedding ring.

Re: The Walking Dead television series!!!!
well I'm glad someone watches the talking dead, I had no clue the zombie ate her, it was my 1st reaction to the scene but then I'm left thinking were's the leftovers, bones etc. with as much as this season has had it's shit together this kinda irkes me, I was hoping the phone took another direction (still could but not as likeley knowing she was eaten whole)

Re: The Walking Dead television series!!!!
I am still confused about something, and probably I am just being a space cadet over it. In the last episode T-Dog sacrifices himself to save Carol, but then in the last episode there are continual references to her being lost (including the grave). This had me lost, but I thought I just blanked over something, but when I scanned through the episode again, I didn't see her death. Is she just wandering around the prison somewhere, and they are assuming she got taken by the walkers? Why the grave and no search? How are they certain T-Dog is dead by the same token then?
- probably just missed it.
