Re: The Walking Dead television series!!!!
I rarely and I mean RARELY spot glaring CONTINUITY errors but when Merle rips Daryl's shirt, Daryl has scars and a tattoo on therightside of his body. Around 25:51
However when he stands and walks away you can see the tattoo on the left side. I had to go back and rewatch but it was a pretty glaring fuck up.
Otherwise the episode was okay. I'm waiting for bloodshed but so far the first two episodes have been mediocre.

Re: The Walking Dead television series!!!!
I caught that too. At first I wondered if he just had 2 sets of the same tattoo, but then I went back to look. I think there was another scene when Herschel was talking to Rick at the fence, and when the camera was on Rick he was leaning/holding the fence, but when it cut to Herschel no one was on the fence. GOD DAMMIT! This episode was better then the last just for the end violence. I HATE the "my wife died now I'm going nuts" story. So cliche. Plus that's not how people go crazy. It's a weak story line and a poor representation of what happens to people in stressful and traumatic situations. Anyway. I'm not complaining totally. I'm still entertained. I'm still interested in what's going to happen. When a show gets to the point where I don't, I'll walk away.

instead of black & white, they should have redone the first season in claymation.

Re: The Walking Dead television series!!!!
I don't even know why I watch Walking Dead anymore. Maybe it's because there is a slight chance of brilliance in the writing once in a blue moon, I like the source material, I've been into other AMC shows, or there is just nothing good on by default and it's zombies so there is a chance of violent deaths. I honestly have to ask myself this every week or so though. It's very cliche and poorly written. I'd prefer it to be two hours long and on every other week so the writing did not feel so rushed and incomplete all the time.
I think it's because for the past two seasons they get so tied down to a central place, i.e the farm, the prison. I know they had that camp in season one but it seemed to be more of a base and the real shit went down in Atlanta. I know AMC wants to get their money's worth out of these elaborate sets but I'm so looking forward to a season where they are on the road in almost every episode. Just a roll of the dice or crapshoot as to what or who will happen each day.

I think I also miss Shane. At least he's the one character who told it like it is..."All these people want to do is sit around and play house!" He would get all worked up and annoyed. Now every character is just bat shit crazy, a follower, weak, or one dimensional. Or just angry and they don't know why. At least we knew why Shane was mad.

I never watched Lost. But I've walked away from shows, even after getting invested, from sucking.

^^^ I don't think they will unless they completely abandon what's going on in the comic. I look forward to the Walking Dead comic every month and it's still going strong.

After a remarkable first season, It just kept getting more and more complex to the point of ridiculousness and confusion, while a lot of the actually-interesting human stories along the way just got dumped, unresolved. I can see "The Walking Dead" veering off course again if the writers don't keep a good balance, but despite the fact I have no idea what an end to this tale might look like, at least there's not a bunch of new series mythology introduced in each episode. In other words I don't think it's going to suffer a LOST-like fate. I think it's important to remember the prologue to the comic, which emphasized that The Walking Dead was going to be more about human responses than conventional zombie action. I'm still liking this season a lot despite the various flaws.

First they appear by Tony Soprano's swimming pool where they don't belong, foreshadowing a frustrating end to the series with Journey blaring in the background and all. Then they walk around on a tropical island on LOST foreshadowing the lame "blow everything up and go to heaven" copout. And you know what? There are polar bears at the aquarium in Atlanta, so conceivably...

Re: The Walking Dead television series!!!!
I don't know, I was never a big fan of the show, and so haven't been invested in it, but seems to be it has been going down a little each season. The writers seem to be incredibly lazy resorting to tired clichés and dragging everything out to the point where almost nothing substantial happens for an entire season (and it is not because they are delving further into the characters or building on the human aspect of the aftermath). I think they are just trying to throw too much action and zombies at the audience, and of course, zombie deaths. More and more zombie deaths. And more gratuitous ones. I can hear the writers writing now... But I do think so many are drawn in because there really is no competition. Put this up against a decent show and I think it would never have the following it does (well, and the zombie fad thing). I don't have TV, but the schlock being peddled my the networks the past couple of years makes me cringe. Seriously, has anyone read the synopsis for that Anthony Edwards show? HBO is the only thing I can count on anymore, and even there you have a few shows and long waits between seasons.

I just hope every other episode doesn't continue to feel like a filler episode.

Re: The Walking Dead television series!!!!
I know every episode can't be the greatest, and you're going to have some filler episodes, but the pace they move this show leaves a lot to be desired. The writers waste time on stupid plot devices and simple dialogue. Every character just seems so one dimensional and knee jerk anymore. Season 2 might of had a slow pace but it was way more interesting than Woodbury. There are no more compelling characters like Shane left. The outside threat of 'fear the living' in season 2 was better served as an unknown then the dumb ass collective of Woodbury people. I still don't know why everyone is so fanboy with Daryl, he just utters one liners and shoots zombies. Not really riveting.

I was hoping that when Andrea was holding the baby, the baby would kick her in the face, or at least start crying...

Wait, where? Because it aint been nothing but blah blah blah so far for a while. Give me more death PLEASE. Rick being crazy is such a shit gimmick. Andrea, ugh, I've hated her since season 1. We're getting to Season 2 bordem level again here. They need to get some shit started. SPLOSIONS AND BRAINS KABLOOM!

Re: The Walking Dead television series!!!!
I could do without the extra 10 minutes per episode of various gross out plot devices i. e. zombie autopsy, de-jawing etc and have that time devoted to more meaningful things like attacks that actually seem like they won't make it out alive, character development consisting of more than one liners or going in circles. It's like the tension has been completely cut out of this show.

Re: The Walking Dead television series!!!!
The plot has yet to make significant progress but I'm definitely excited to delve into character analysis. Reminds me of Ray Bradbury's Martian Chronicles, chapter The Silent Towns

Re: The Walking Dead television series!!!!
I like the symbolism of the turned RV and two cars on the road at the end....how it easily could have been them after the herd from episode 1 of season 2. Not sure if it was meant to be that but I took it that way.

Re: The Walking Dead television series!!!!
I thought it was a pretty good episode. Away from the prison. No whining about the governor or merle or blah blah blah. The characters showed a little bit of personality and I love how they left that hitchhiker in the beginning. It was a great change of pace in my opinion.
