Funny you mention.
About 3 years ago I was in Silverlake CA. to see a show and my friend and I had just eaten Thai food on the same street as the venue. As we were walking around sunset I spotted a bright flickering object in the Norther sky headed east. Suddenly it started "dropping" individual smaller lights, almost in perfect time. The after about 30 seconds it immediately stopped and faded. It was crazy. I've seen many many shooting stars and meteors. The trajectory didn't fit. My friend didn't see it, he's legally blind. I did ask some people, but nobody saw it and I was crazy. I've been seeing many videos recently with "craft" doing the same "drop" stuff.

BY FAR the weirdest thing I saw was in the Desert while camping. My friends and I suddenly noticed a large black cylinder shape with a white light on each end. You could see it standing out from the star filled sky and full moon. Were were thinking "Balloon, maybe a blimp, or a joke? Pretty killer joke!" Then it began to "stretch" and elongate from end to end, it tripled in size, and zipped away over the horizon in a illuminated blur, as if it was a rubber band being shot from someones finger. Insane acceleration. People began arguing and yelling all over the camp. Some people suggested a Russian rocket the next day, but standing still, blocking out the sky, and suddenly zipping off. I still doubt it. It looked so unreal, like it was "folding" or "Warping" space or something like some sort of multi-dimensional rolling pin. :?:

I was once driving home from Pittsburgh, deep in the mountains late at night. The whole sky lit up like an electrical explosion (blue) and we saw a very brief trail of sparks...it was a meteor. I wished it to be a crashed UFO, but it was not to be.

Remembering this from childhood, to this day I still don't know what the hell I saw.

In the sky I saw a huge circular pattern of lights just rotating at a moderate speed, and then all of the sudden they disappeared. Seems like this was happening over the marine base too since we could see it from our house even though its a good distance away. Maybe it was the base doing stuff; but I know what I saw.

I love reading all of these! Thanks guys!
I hope to someday have another encounter that is more illuminating than what I encountered decades ago (described earlier in the thread) - something that is unmistakably alien, or at least unrecognizable technology. Nothing would be more gratifying to me than for the world to learn of the existence of aliens, and their interaction with earth. Even though it puts me squarely in "nut job" territory, I'm holding out hope that something happens on December 21st.

Not to derail back to the previous topic, but just stumbled upon this image today, Abildgaard's Nightmare depicting the sensation of sleep paralysis

Image

which is after an original piece by Fuseli that incorporates both the hag and restraining incubus. So this is clearly not a new phenomenon where people's perceptions are concerned.

Post Re: has anyone here ever honestly seen a UFO?
I keep debating about posting this, but we're adult toy collectors, we're all a bunch of weirdos ;)

For years I've had a fascination with altered states of consciousness and areas of the occult relating to these altered states.
The most interesting to me being out of body experiences aka astral travel. After a long time of practice and reading I was able to achieve many successful OBEs, I won't go into my personal experiences, but will say they were truly amazing. And something much more than a lucid dream, in fact several times while dreaming, a lucid awareness would actually trigger me to wake up in a state of sleep paralysis, which brings me to the topic at hand. I discovered that OBEs were always preceded by sleep paralysis, and it was during this state that if I was successful I had the sensory experience of my mind disconnecting from the physical body, and audible snap, sensing the astral bodies motion as it leaves the physical body, or at least the space the physical body is occupying. Sleep paralysis is terrifying, not being able to move, the tension of a locked jaw, the vibrations, the loud noises thundering in your ears. But I was determined to succeed and get over the fear. And after I'd say waking in sleep paralysis 100 times while it never became enjoyable, it was at least bearable and the sensations associated with it seemed to null with experience.

I won't theorize on what an OBE really is, but the hardest part of the process was initially achieving a state of sleep paralysis. I did experience some unpleasant entities during sleep paralysis a few times, which have been discussed here (Old Hags or energy vampires, and Grey ETs) But I guess the mystery and the search for some kind of answer always trumped any worry or fear. I haven't attempted OBEs in probably half a year now, but I still occasionally wake up in states of sleep paralysis, but they are very brief.

I hope that people realize these states and entities are being experienced by a large number of people, even if it's just an isolated incident you never planned for or will ever forget. And there is so much we don't know about the mind. Maybe in 25 years there will be solid scientific understanding behind these states.

I am originally from Southern New Mexico near Roswell. I grew up seeing all sorts of crazy shit in the sky. Everyone I know from around the area still sees unexplainable things. Lots of meteors and falling stars too. Great night skies around there.

Post Re: has anyone here ever honestly seen a UFO?
So last night I saw something that I can only classify as a UFO because I have no idea what it was. I was driving south and saw a very bright light low in the sky to the south of Portland - I would say it was no larger than 2x the size that Venus is at dusk and a bit brighter. I got really excited because I've been watching lots of UFO videos lately, but I told myself that it was probably just a jet coming in. But then I realized that jets don't fly in from the south - and that if it was a jet it would be much closer than it actually appeared in order for the light to be that large and bright...and that I would have seen the red wing lights, etc. It was mostly a white light, but the more I stared I noticed that it seemed to be rapidly changing color...or to be more precise, the tint of the light was rapidly changing, similar to how stars "flash" due to their light passing through the atmosphere, but far more noticeable because of the size difference. About this time I was getting off I-5 to cross over the river so I wasn't able to stare straight out the windshield, but kept looking out the window to my left until I was in downtown and could no longer see it. It immediately reminded me of this, which I saw in a compilation video of UFOs:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPOdiIMqX_M

(Strange, that video worked for me last night but isn't playing for me now... I've noticed this happening with lots of UFO videos over the past several days. Does the video play for anyone else?)

I also did a search to see if anyone posted about seeing a UFO in Portland last night and came across this video shot in Portland earlier in the year. This is very similar to what I saw, but this video doesn't show the color change/flash and what I saw was lower down towards the horizon - otherwise it's pretty spot on. The only difference is what I saw didn't appear to be moving at all, but it could have been moving directly towards my location which would have resulted in it appearing to be motionless.

I gotta be honest - I am kind of excited about next Friday!

Supposed interview with a reptilian, while claiming to be a native species she does speak about several alien races who have existed and visited and genetically altered DNA to speed evolution. Fun read though translated into English and the language is a little broken. http://luisprada.com/protected/the_lacerta_files.htm

Eh, just wanted to add this video of Canadian ex-Minister of Defense stating supposed first-hand knowledge of aliens, including at least 4 races of extraterrestrials who have visited Earth:

And our government would never lie to us, right? . My sister, a long time ago, saw a ufo while she was riding her bike home after dark. She crashed into a mailbox trying to "get away" and said it followed her home, low in the sky. She was up all night. But then again, she saw the Wampus cat too. ( and was afraid of "the Munsters" ). Probably need to x-file this one under "unreliable witness".
