Good points Pogue, however more vegans and vegetarains are aware of this than meat eaters. There are bits of snake, bugs, field mice, rats in our bread and pasta and most any other food. So many products have bits of animal them.
There are a lot of other cheaper suppliments and options for food but due to history and contracts they will rarely change ingredients. Its all economics, Id love to compare how many food products had whey or soy in them today vs 15 years ago...
Funny, right now as I type they are talking about TofuTurkey (Tofurkey) in a positive light on the broadcast of the NYC Thanksgiving parade on CBS

And the angel of the lord came unto me,
snatching me up from my place of slumber.
And took me on high, and higher still
until we moved to the spaces betwixt the air itself.
And he brought me into a vast farmland of our own midwest.
And as we descended, cries of impending doom rose from the soil.
One thousand, nay a million voices full of fear.
And terror possessed me then.
And I begged, "Angel of the Lord, what are these tortured screams?"
And the angel said unto me,
"These are the cries of the carrots, the cries of the carrots!
You see, Reverend Maynard,
tomorrow is harvest day and to them it is the holocaust."
And I sprang from my slumber drenched in sweat
like the tears of one million terrified brothers and roared,
"Hear me now, I have seen the light!
They have a consciousness, they have a life,
they have a soul! Damn you! Let the rabbits wear glasses!
Save our brothers!"
Can I get an amen?
Can I get a hallelujah?
Thank you Jesus.
Life feeds on life feeds on life feeds on life feeds on........
This is necessary.

life does feed on life but that in no way gives justification for factory farming. Humans are so far removed from the food chain...

They just feed on different stuff. Sooooo....a GOOD vegetarian should keep their views to themsleves, while you can blather on trying to extoll the virtues of eating meat? Now you're just embarrassing yourself.
I never said anything about what a good vegetarian is or that eating stupid animals is okay. I stated that I like to eat my food freshly killed and AS A JOKE said I would probably eat stupid people if it was legal.
I need to stay out of threads where I don't totally agree with what people think because apparently some people aren't as open minded and accepting to other peoples lifestyles.
Its okay I respect that Vegilantes have strong views and defend them.

Funny KR kids and people who make up stories...
We let anyone in these days
I always get a kick on how people will try to prove veganism/vegetarainism wrong or how great meat is only to retract and try to make nice later. Like none of us that are vegan/veg have never heard their borrowed attempts at wit.
fucking *yawn*
To each their own, but hail to HMS putting he beiefs to practice.

I agree, I'd love to actually catch/kill/skin/prepare my own food. Seriously. I just would like to at least KNOW how if I ever had to.
The predator in me, instead, is transfered to hunting toys.

I went to tokyo for the first time with 2 vegans and it was soo soo tough for them. Even though they prepared beforehand. You should write a small guide.
