 Re: Official S.O.A. Thread
Feature-length season premier in just under an hour! I have my beefs with this show, but overall it's a damn entertaining soap. A welcome return.

I just don't know if I'm going to make it to the end... what an exhausting snooze.

 Re: Official S.O.A. Thread
It's been long enough now that I don't recall all the specific details (watched it live from S2 on), but THE SHIELD always resonated with me as having one of the few really good, fitting endings to a series I had some big doubts about them pulling off that final season (better than SOPRANOS, imho - oh snap, I went there!) This last season of SAMCRO feels like they're kind of trying to pull a lot of the same kinds of things Sutter pulled off with that last season of THE SHIELD (double triple crosses, playing the different gangs against each other and trying to stay one step ahead of everyone else)... only less successfully? (so far, at least... I hope!) Just seems like these 1st few eps have been spinning wheels a bit and for the number of loose ends they have to tie up, they maybe shouldn't be as loosey goosey as they seem. Or maybe they're just super confident in how tight their shit is and we'll all be pleasantly surprised when they pull it all off? Here's hoping so! I love these characters too much to not tune in and see what happens, but I'm pretty sure NO one is expecting a "happy ending" at this point, right? I predict Jax ends up losing all his sons, both literally and figuratively - no club, no family... just him at the end, alone with no moves left to make and full of bitter regrets (uh, just like THE SHIELD)

No one wanna talk about last nights episode? I honestly think it could have been the best one ever in the shows run.

 Re: Official S.O.A. Thread
I agree. So much emotion and torment shown from all the players. Incredible writing and acting. This show will be missed but I am curious if a prequel will come after this story finishes. To see the beginnings of SAMCRO and all the shit JT and the others dealt with long before Jax and his band of merry men became members could be an incredible story to watch unfold. Kurt Sutter is an amazing writer/director along with the team of writers/directors for SOA. It would be super exciting to get another full series devoted to the beginnings of Mayhem! I Can't wait to see the last two episodes!

I tried to get into to S.O.A. on Netflix but checked out midway through season 3 in Ireland. Just all the in fighting back an forth got on my nerves.

 Re: Official S.O.A. Thread
Season 3 is a good place to stop with this series, I'd say. You might like to finish out the year though, Chris; as exhausting as all the back and forth was, the payoff in the finale is pretty spectacular.

 Re: Official S.O.A. Thread

Can't say I agree, but Robocop certainly did direct the shit out of last night's episode.

 Re: Official S.O.A. Thread
@Lixx: If you made it through five seasons of Walking Dead, you really ought to give SOA another try. Unlike the hacks butchering WD, Sutter knows what dramatic structure is, so all the back-and-forth leads to some pretty mind-blowing climaxes eventually.
Haven't caught up with this season yet, but after the harrowing sixth season I expect nothing less than greatness!

Haven't caught up with this season yet, but after the harrowing sixth season I expect nothing less than greatness! Yeah I was thinking that as I typed that (about WD). I always envision the hacks writing WD to be stupid hipster millenials, well maybe that's harsh, probably older but at least people who think their writing is beyond their actual ability. As this season has already proven. They killed that one leader of of the SOA Ireland division last I watched- throwing him off the roof. Can I just skip the rest of three? Doesn't Opie kill that evil DEA agent in 3?

 Re: Official S.O.A. Thread
^^ I'd definitely recommend watching at least the last two episodes, even though you already know the most satisfying bit...

Nooo..! Not Unser!!! I was about to post something along the lines of "I don't care whatever happens as long as Unser makes it to the finish line" the other day... Damn you, Sutter, you cold-hearted bastard.

I expected him to be the last man alive at the end - he was doomed to die from the beginning and it would have been a message to have everyone involved go down before the cancer ridden old man.

 Re: Official S.O.A. Thread
S.O.A. is by far one of the worst shows ever to grace the boob tube! That being said, I have watched it since Day 1. I have come to the conclusion that nothing can be worse than the series finale of Lost, so I'm all in with this silly show. Talk about a weekly jump of the shark... I'm all about suspending my disbelief, but... Next week will be it and I can finally delete it from the DVR.
