 Stupid people pricing
I've been known to overpay for figures from time to time but things seem to be spinning out of control recently. So I thought I would start a tread about it.
For example:
http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h51868515
who pays around $180 for a brand new mini figure (even if it is pushead) when we don't even know all the release details? This stuff used to make me made now it just makes me laugh. I wonder if they feel any buyers remorse yet. Crazy times.

Sometimes I get the notion that some ppl out there will pay stoopid prices just to say "I got it first, everyone look. don't you want to be me?"
Do you really like it, or do you just think everyone else will like it and evny you? 'tis weird, but I don't know what people think. It's just the impression I get sometimes--especially when they turn around and flip the thing just before the hype fades.

this has to be for keeps. I don't see anyone being able to get a good flip on 18,000 yen, and that's not even adding all the fees in.

yeah, you're probably right, living dead. It's already high.
I just started on a little vent in that general direction...

 Re: Stupid people pricing
Even if its for keeps its a crazy high price to pay especially when starting bids are 3000 jy. on other ones and they were just released this last weekend. I hope that doesn't become a trend......

No trend, I think stupidity will stick around for quite awhile.

I have heard that our friend in Iowa may have these shortly. 'Nuff said, so to say, huh?

I buy a lot of stuff. I've noticed that when an item first comes out, the prices are high. As more people sell the same item, the price will go down. Then, once the supply starts getting low, prices will rise again. I've noticed the same thing with concert tickets. Don't buy concert tickets when the tickets first go on sale or when near the show date (doesn't go for punk bands though - they never sell out).

It hit me this morning that lows8r often bases his pricing at a discount to the current after market value. So this might be a case of ruining it for everyone else, lets hope not.
Another one sold last night for 17,00 yen. yikes!

Oops, you are correct, sir!
Still should be a lot less that these YJA prices. And, the money goes back to the artist - what could be better?

The funny thing about this is I'm pretty sure I got an email from one of the services I use offering it for FAR less than this.
That's a whole lotta dough for a little figure like that...but as long as the buyer is happy with the purchase that's cool by me.
