Okay, I'm probably behind the curve (as usual) on these guys, but, after friends telling me for many weeks that they would be "right up my alley", I finally checked 'em out and.... !
Love 'em!

Hadn't seen anyone here post on them yet...here's the vid for "Atlas":

I saw them opening for Prefuse73's last tour and they rocked me like a hurricane.

If they're playing anywhere near you, you absolutely must see them live. While the new record does a better job at capturing their live sound, you absolutely must experience their rhythm section in person.

The director of the Atlas video has a pretty high quality version on his site:

Had to revive this- saw these guys last night in Montreal- completely kickass.

At times it sounded very much like a Mach-5 version of The Magic Band, which gave a Beefheart fan like me very special feelings, indeed.
The pace of their between-tune “gellings”, as they synched up their machines for the next composition was a bit glacial at times, but when they locked in, it was all worth it. They worked really fuckin’ hard and put on a great show.

And John Stanier?
John Stanier is a motherfucker.
