After watching that film yesterday, I'm thinking about doing the same!

'cept for all the French, it's like they have to have a different word for everything.

I think I'd rather move to France because of the fact that the government does your laundry there

5 weeks paid vacation MINIMUM by law (incl part time jobs)! Paid day when you move! Unlimited sick days (incl. recovery time) 100% paid! Free health care, free daycare for your kids, free education through college!
And the food ain't bad, either.
Granted, the taxes are higher, but damn!

The movie is biased & not a neutral documentary, for sure, but if it brings up some very important issues. The most ironic part in the movie was the anti-Michael Moore website that had to shut down b/c the host had to spend all of his money for his wife's hospital bills that the insurance company would not cover. Moore anonomously sent him $12,000 to get the site back up.
The Cuba stunt had no credibility, though, IMHO.

My problem w/Moore is that even though he admits to his one-sidedness, his movies aren't sold that way. And that's a problem, because lots of (stupid/lazy?) people who see them rarely do any additional research and take it all for face value, than the 'important issues' raised are void due to many of them being based on false statements, etc. etc. etc.
Politcal and social views aside, I don't like Moore mainly for being just as bad (sometimes worse) than those he targets. Don't hate him, guy knows how to take advantage and make a buck.
This went way off, sorry. Back to toys for me.

Exactly.
Propaganda is propaganda no matter what side you are spinning.

Moore lost me with 9/11 mainly because he said nothing that wasn't already in the public eye and instead of directing his anger at the general government, it came across extremely anti Bush, which was unfair and wrong.
The "great" thing about Moore is his ability to take all the pieces of a puzzle and arrange them in such a way that you can see the picture that was there before, you just never bothered to connect them.
He is one sided, however so is a lot of the news etc. So really he is no different, just he gets a lot of slack cuz he's (gasp) not towing the party line.
I have the utmost respect for France, if only for it's general position of we'll take care of our own (what's best for us - be that governmental policy most of the time, but at least it's internal policy) point of view.
That does blow up in their face when a teacher does a few extra hours over time and due to that gets a massive pay out or nearly a year off.
None the less, Europe is far fairer to it's workers (blue or white collar) than the US. In Europe, it's standard & accepted that you get a minimum of 4 weeks paid holiday almost regardless of how long you've worked somewhere, factory or office.
Your employers accept & expect it as do your co workers as opposed to the guilt that one might expect & receive in the states.
(I speak from experience only)
mmmm Vinyl... so soft against my skin...
