some for me:

-slowly stepping on a dried leaf and feeling it gradually crunch under my foot

-when i put a cave or something like that in my fish tank and the fish actually swim through it

-sniffing books. i'll flip the pages by my face making a booky smelling breeze under my nose

I like the smell of a new magazine.

The leaf thing is also strangley satisfying.

Something else even more so (this is less likely to happen than most) opening a book for the first time and realising it was a ltd edition. I bought a copy of Lunar Park by Brett Easton Ellis which came in a nice slipcase. It was only when opening it to read it yesterday i realised it was a ltd edition (first print, ltd to 1000 - i got no. 669)

That was the best as a kid, except for every now and than when there really was a puddle underneath and I couldn't tell due to the blacktop and SPLASH cold-wet-foot.

Soggy cereal for me. That's my big weird thing I guess that's kinda little.

here's a creepy one

i like watching people that don't know i am watching them... like voyeurism in a non-sexual way i guess

for instance, i used to have neighbors that would always hang out in their open garage with friends... playing darts and stuff. i could see them through my glass deck door. it was just intriguing to watch them doing boring shit out there

i think it goes back to when i would lie in bed as a kid and watch the distant neighbors' house from my window. their lights would go on and off in different rooms, and it was relaxing to me to watch it

I like the sound of rain and wind against the windows while I'm warm and dry indoors.

I also like to rest my head on my roommate's cat, as if he's a pillow, and listen to him purr. Very soothing.

The smell of pine needles. A freshly sharpened pencil smells kinda nice, too. :)

If I see a coin on the ground, I'll turn it head side up for the next person.

My girlfriend's ears poking out of her hair makes her look like an elf.

I like sitting in traffic on my way to work. It's especially awesome when I'm listening to a new CD.

Waiting in line for a toy is pretty great too. I've met a lot of cool in toy lines.

Also, being the first person to open a new book and getting to hear that crackling sound.
