i'll take this opportunity to plug an exciting development:

we have begun the first 8 of the 25 or 30 casts of my "nestkeeper". each will be unique in that they will be hand painted, and, branches, birds, nests, and or butterflies will adorn the figure as well. i'll be selling these first 8 at the lineage gallery opening, the remainder will be available later september through my site. they will be running at $600, these are not toys, casts of a sculpture. each one is original, excluding the mold of course.

I think these are lovely.

Beautiful work, but $600 per? Jeez, I'm in the wrong fuckin' business. Time to convert my basement into a studio.

I'm not in the market for (nor can I afford or justify) $600 figures.

quote Kokik:
I stopped cold turkey and sold off most of my stash after I realized I had blown about 15 Grand in 6 months with no end in sight. The day I started to rationilze paying 800 bucks for a toy..well..I just had to stop. I pretty much got my money back and some of you got some nice pieces at decent prices.

Toy or is it art? whatever. Pass.
Not going to that price level. Not going to support it.

I really like those. I won't be spending $600 on them, but the three shown above look like they justify it.

I don't see how this is all that expensive. Private highschool, college, public college, the doctor, a lot of shit will run you $600. Dinner in a restaurant.
I mean $15,000 is gonna buy you a Honda or a Kia not a McLaren.

Yeah! I just picked up one of the Fontana pieces from the new show (a painting, not a sculpture). I'm really excited...

Did you get one of the nestkeepers Mssr Pogue?

the one's I like were sold by the time I got the gallery on the phone. Hopefully I will score one when he releses the rest of them.

What painting did you get?

I got "The Growth Witness". Some of the bigger pieces looked really amazing, but I don't have 5k right now.

Looked like some of those nestkeepers were the very first things to sell. Do you know when the others will be released? Just off his website?

it's interesting how they ended up being 700 instead of 600. the show's really good, but i sort of doubt i'll be purchasing any more originals of his. too expensive for me now. i really like the two irregular fauna and the bigger koi pieces (i also think it's funny how his "last koi paintings for a long time" ended up being just the last ones for 6 months). the panda & elephant scrolls are really nice too. i might buy the two prints since they're so cheap.

i think we were sharing a brain this morrning. I was thinking all of those things too. I think there are two paintings that did not sell at other shows that are priced higher.

I do think the work is getting better so i guess the price jump is justified.

I'm still not over them selling my blue one. I've never been so bummed about any painting or toy.

And all the paintings I wanted are sold to as of this morning. Oh well.

Hoping one of the remaining 22 "speaks" to me.

PS. they were $700 at the gallery not $600, but I'm hoping the ones on his site will be back to $600
