this is inevitable as things get more exposure.

if the folks with a lot of knowlege impart their wisdom and open up a little bit it can be tolerable to have new folks around.

we're all noobs at some point. if they read the FAQs before they start posting (i know...i'm reaching here) and don't get out of line in the sales forum it can be a good thing to have new blood over here.

or at least that is what i'm telling myself these days.

if people just want a new place to buy and flip stuff i'm not cool with that.

The buy and sell boards ove there are ugly. There are so many scammers, that aspect of KR coming here would be harsh. If you're bored read up on their scam news its interesting.

If people read the FAQs here there would be less venom but thats unlikely.

yeah i know what you mean. it is nice in theory to think that people will read the FAQ, but if they don't and ask a stupid question there will be someone to make sure it is addressed.

i haven't posted/read much on Kr in over a year. it's not worth the anxiety it induces in me.

i'm trying to be more open to helping out other new folks here. some of the newcomers here have been cool, and some i just avoid reading their posts. And I see some issues with the BST forum here already lately, but I just stay out of it. I deal with people I know and that's that.

I guess at the end of the day, make the board what you want it to be. It can be a good place with cool people, but those people need to learn just like we all did

I'm a Fresh Meat and I read the FAQ. the whole part about having a "tough skin" and sarcasm being a weapon of choice really helped me out.

as far as the scamming, there are several reasons for that. I think PART of it is like when you have a city explode in population from being a small town. crime (scams) and things of that nature come with the territory.

I think it's a great idea. It'll keep douches off this board and onto their own.
