Post Australia Elects New Prime Minister
John Howard after 11½ years as Australia's Liberal prime minister lost in today's election to Labor leader Kevin Rudd.

Female Labor party recruit, Maxine McKew also won Howards local seat that he had held for 33 years.

Australia now has it's first female Deputy Prime Minister-elect, Julia Gillard.

Party's continue on!! :D :D :D :D :D :D

Also only the second time in history the prime minister has lost their own seat during a federal election.

Last time was 1929.
