 paypal payment delays?
quick question... i do bank transfers on paypal. just recently it seems like I now have to wait 3 days for a transfer of funds to complete, whereas before I thought I could transfer funds instantly. so now, when I pay someone, they have to wait 3 days to get the money. anyone else notice this? or am I missing something

I believe they advise that it may take 3-4 business days, and that any delays are at the bank, not with PayPal, who appear to transmit the intent to transfer funds immediately upon customer request. I've always had to wait about three business days. Every rare once in awhile it takes about two. It's possible that the Thanksgiving holiday, effectively a four-day holiday for banks, is currently holding things up, but again in my experience, three or four days for the transfer is normal. I've never seen it happen same-day or overnight.

I've had it done right away, taken a day, taken 4 days.

ok, well i could have sworn a month ago.. when i paid someone it immediately says that the transaction is complete, whereas now (the past week or two) it always says "uncleared" (not sure if the receiver has to wait a few days to get the money.... i've never received money and had paypal say that I have to wait a few days)
(by the way.. i'm talking about my bank to paypal to payee, not paypal to my bank just in case anyone is confused)

as far back as I can remember you always had to wait a few days but now I see a delay of just a few minutes showing your latest activity for some reason...

If you have a credit card through paypal the receiver gets his money when you do the transaction, but if you use your checking account to send money through paypal it takes 3-5 day's for it to clear..It's alway's been like this as far as I know..I received a payment today through paypal and it will take 3 to 5 day's to clear because the buyer used his checking account..

I had this happen to me when my credit card expired, they sent me a new card but I forgot to update it in PayPal
Resulted in sending "e-checks" which took 3-4 days for the other person to even get the payment in the first place (it had to "clear")
Make sure your CC info is up to date and you should be good to go
